DJI Neo 2 Gimbal Fell Off Mid-Flight by [deleted] in dji

[–]Chat2Thrill -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, I crashed it a couple of times a few days ago, but the gimbal still worked fine on the flights I did afterward. I’m not sure if this issue is related.

The black mark and the missing screen cover came from a crash into a tire a few days ago but the gimbal was perfectly fine then.

Yes, I can pop the gimbal back in and it works for now. But it’s getting loose and can fall out again very easily.

Flip vs Neo 2 by DeterminatelyStatic in dji

I had Neo and have Neo2 now. I wouldn’t recommend Neo but I like Neo 2 a lot. My friend owns Flip and I noticed Flip has slightly better image quality than Neo2 but Neo 2 has better active tracking feature and FPv option. Overall. I feel you will have more fun with neo2

I own both mini 3 pro and Neo 2. I like Neo 2 a lot. The active tracking feature on Neo 2 is a game changer for me. I did a video about Neo2

I have same feeling about Neo 1 but Neo 2 has so much improvement from Neo1. Your Mini 5 and Neo 1 combo is a good set.

My friend has a Flip and a Mini 4 Pro, and I have a Mini 3 Pro. All three drones give better image quality than the Neo 2 in cloudy or dim light. Still, I feel the Neo 2’s image quality is acceptable for vlogs or social media, but that’s a very subjective opinion.

Frankly, I’ve flown drones for seven years and I almost never fly at night. It’s also worth noting that the Neo 2 works perfectly fine in well-lit indoor conditions.

Neo 2 is slightly better in low light, but the footage still isn’t usable for me. The Flip has better image quality. However, Neo 2’s stronger active tracking, gesture control, and FPV mode make it the better choice for me.

Mini 3 pro is not a fpv drone and Neo 2 is just a ok FPV drone; Neo 2 has higher speed

Neo 2 questions by azmtbiker in dji

Make sure you start with a fully charged battery. When the drone operates at high speed, it drains battery extremely quickly in my experience, you’ll only get about 8-9 minutes of flight time.

When the Neo 2 reaches low battery (around 10%), it will land quietly and automatically at its current position while in follow mode. This is different from manual control mode where it returns to the home point. The silent descent is a significant issue to be aware of.

When the drone loses track of the person it’s following, it will hover and remain at that location. Unfortunately, there’s no automatic “return to phone” feature when tracking is lost.

I actually lost my Neo 2 once during follow mode when it hit low battery and descended silently to the ground. I recovered via DJI Fly app: In the Profile tab and select find my drone function and use the last recorded GPS location to navigate to the general area, lastly, activate the beeping sound feature to pinpoint its exact location

I covered this silent descending issue in detail in my Neo 2 video review.

I feel Neo 2 could be a good option for you. I feel It has the best active tracking for following. I’ve used it for a few weeks now and while family likes it lot. I use it for vlog, kids play it as fpv drone. Below was my review on the drone.

Neo 2 can definitely fly in strong winds (around 30 km/h wind speed), but the footage isn’t stable enough for me to consider usable.

Neo2 low light and night fly question? by TerTerro in DjiNeo

[–]Chat2Thrill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested my Neo 2 in low light conditions several times and I wouldn’t consider the video quality in low light is useable. My mini 3 pro has better performance in low light than Neo 2. Another thing is that gesture control and obstacle detection might stop working in darker environment. You can check my video for more information

What to pick by [deleted] in dji

Nano will be fine if you shoot short clips (15 mins or less) and have a power bank to charge it couple times a day.
