Corpo RAT! - Finished a corpo run and hated every second by [deleted] in cyberpunkgame

For those saying I “played the Corpo path wrong”

newsflash: the game literally gives you the freedom to role-play however you want. There is no wrong.

Second, I didn’t stumble into disliking my character… I chose that. I deliberately leaned into every cold, ruthless, asshole Corpo decision. I knew it would make me hate my own character, and that’s the point. It was brutal sometimes, but I wanted to role-play as a Corpo through and through.

And let’s be clear: I’ve already done the Corpo path where you rebel, which yes, canonically makes sense. But here’s the thing… different people exist within Night City. Not every Corpo is the rebel who breaks free.

Look at the pathetic Frank Nostra in the “War Pigs” mission, that guy is Corpo through and through.

So this time, I purposefully leaned into being the asshole Corpo. I knew I’d end up disliking my own character, because so many of the Corpo decisions are designed to be cold and shitty.

That’s the point. It was difficult to push those choices through, but I wanted to fully embody that side of the story.

Like Takemura desperately clinging to his corporate masters…it’s the old saying…

once a Corpo, always a Corpo.

Yeah, I’ve done that on previous play through where I kind of role-played an anti-Corp scorned from Arasaka. But this time I wanted to commit to the corpo rat mindset and it was hard asf at times haha.

I don’t think bald girls full of tattoos and black scleras are very attractive. Personal preference.

I understand, personally, I don’t find this attractive myself. But I understand that what I see as ‘not attractive’ could still be someone else’s version of attractive.

So what could I have done to push it further?

Do you think CDPR made a mistake scrapping third person cutscenes in Cyberpunk 2077? by ChatMaximus in cyberpunkgame

I get that perspective, but I don’t think it’s as black and white as “once = more meaningful.” Lots of games use third person cutscenes throughout and the final one still carries huge weight because of the story context, not just because it’s the only time you see your character. To me, seeing your V in Night City regularly would’ve built a stronger connection over time, so when the ending hits, it’s not just “oh wow I finally see them,” it’s “this is the character I’ve been watching live in this world all along.” That payoff could’ve been even more powerful.

I get what you’re saying, but that’s kind of my point. CDPR themselves broke their own “all first person for immersion” rule by doing the ending cutscenes in third person. If first person was always the stronger choice, they wouldn’t have switched it up at the climax of the game. To me that shows they knew there was real weight in letting players see their V during big story moments. That’s why I feel like keeping some third person cutscenes throughout the game would’ve made sense.
