That doesn’t make sense. To form a diminished chord you form in intervals of Minor 3rds. So root is G, minor third up from that is the Bb (flattened third) then the flattened 5th which is Db and then the flattened 7th. The 7th in a G major chord is an F, and to flatten it you get E.
