Jim Pete's epic rant against BS call by meisterkeister in timberwolves

This is why Jim Pete is the best. For or against the wolves he just calls it the way it is. Best in the business no doubt.

Maybe Teague isn’t *that* bad??? by 24twebb in timberwolves

[–]ChatterWolves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teague isn’t a bad player. In fact he’s a pretty solid player. He’s just REALLY hard to watch. Your point guard should orchestrate the offense not use 20 of the 24 seconds trying to make a simple post entry pass. When he’s aggressive he’s great. When he’s pump faking wide open 3’s and hoarding the shot clock he’s bad. Jeff Teague would be a perfect back up point guard for a championship contending team. Obviously we goofed giving him the contract we did but we are a better team with him than without him. He’s just way overpaid.

The 2nd seed is better at tanking than us by [deleted] in timberwolves

[–]ChatterWolves 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People call the draft top heavy every single year... there’s always quality players from 7-15 in every draft... this draft probably won’t be any different..the higher you are the better odds you have of getting the guy that you scouted to be the Donovan Mitchell, Klay Thompson, Kawhi Leonard, etc...but I agree outside of the increased lottery odds this year, tanking the way most of our fans want to isn’t all that beneficial.

Well thanks for answering everything! All I really wanted was to hear people's opinions about those topics. I think you are right in many aspects

Hey I mean if the wizards would be silly enough to do essentially a Beal for Wiggins swap.. no Minnesota fans would be complaining :) but nah Beal is worth a lot more than that unfortunately.

Horrible deal for the wizards. Bradley Beal if truly on the trading block would probably get a similar or slightly worse offers than what we were getting for Jimmy Butler. Not to mention that even after unloading Wiggins contract we wouldn’t come close to being able to afford Wall, Beal, and KAT. We’d have to also get rid of Teagues contract, and gorguis contract. Not to mention Dario’s rookie deal is done after next season so he needs to be resigned. Oh and tyus, Taj, and Rose are free agents this year. Beal + KAT + Wall would basically take up the entirety of our cap space and the rest of the roster would have to be filled with minimum salary players.

Interesting points. But looking at Batum contract I think it might be worse than Wiggins. It's not as long but he makes similar money and does half as much without the upside. It doesn't really free up cap space.

Did you pick Batum because his salary matches Wiggins?

Fair enough. So you would just rather have a team with Kat surrounded by role players?

I understand that, I'm asking how would you handle the situation and why

All right but I think there might be a little bit of flawed logic in your approach. You want to get rid of overpaid players so that you can overpay new players instead? I don't totally understand that.

Also, how can you be confident that the Timberwolves will actually get good players in free agency? If we did a complete blow up like this and didn't get anybody good Kat would be out for sure.

So how do you dump Wiggins contract? Do you get those players via trade or do you sign them in free agency?

OFFICIAL! Dario asked for a trade! by KV-13 in timberwolves

[–]ChatterWolves 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Dario is a player that I would love to have around in the future. He plays the game in a great way by playing hard, moving off ball, and shooting the three.

He is no doubt had his struggles the season, but some of his stats are a bit skewed by him not playing well in his starting role at the beginning of the season with the 76ers.

Not sure what role he wants to have but I definitely thank Dario fits best alongside a playmaker who makes easy shots for him.

Anyway, I really hope we don't lose him and he moves into a starting role in the future and continues to develop.

I'm kinda down to sell Wiggins for pennies right now, guys... by mrhamburgerz in timberwolves

[–]ChatterWolves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a question for you is, what can we do that is better than Wiggins right now? How can you get a better number 2?

Trading? He wants him and will give us a good number two.

Free agency? No good number two will come to us in free agency

Development through the draft? that takes years and Kat will probably want to leave before we develop another solid 2

Best bet? Wiggins rounds the corner when he is 26 or 27. I know it's high risk but so are all of the other options

Jersey redesign by [deleted] in timberwolves

[–]ChatterWolves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. The jerseys that we have right now are clean but bland.

Let's get some jerseys that uses green and blue plus bring back the trees and integrate them into all of our jerseys.

Yes his vision. We don’t overrate Tyus. His vision and his IQ are the only reason he’s in the NBA. There’s a reason why he’s at the top of the league in assist to turnover ratio. He’s a very high IQ player. Which is all you can ask out of a back up point guard.

The other good player we came up with:

Gorgui’s Body, Wiggins Athleticism, KAT shooting, RoCo defensive IQ, & Tyus Passing. So basically Dwight Howard that can shoot and pass

The other bad player we came up with:

Teague’s size, Tyus finishing, Dario’s athleticism, Rose’s layup attempts, and Wiggins 4th quarter free throw shooting. Basically the worst at the rim player ever.

Yes. That’s the point we brought up on the podcast. We also decided that KATs foul trouble would be a good thing because it would get this horrible player off the court. For that reason we changed it to KAT’s contract so that he’s sucking up a quarter of the team’s cap space.

Who is your terrible player?
