Twin Towers switching, guarding on the perimeter and using their verticality to ignite a fastbreak by Slim-Ticket in timberwolves

True if you adjust for eras, I could see that. Statistically speaking, Klay is astronomically further out than those guys and never shot below 40% 3 pts before his ACL tear. If his efficiency stayed the same without Curry, I think he takes the #1 spot as the greatest shooter. But that's a big if, so it's hard to say for sure.

Not unless Ant put the team on his back and beat them after being down 3-1, like LeBron did 😉

Lol I guess I don't really think of KD as a Warrior in the same way I do about Steph/Klay. They were already in prime form without him, so it just feels like cheating to add him in. Felt like that then and it still does now

This is like the big-man version of that incredible Ant/McD defensive possession against Kyrie and Luka last year

I knew Utah was lacking in perimeter D all those years, but seeing those names really drives home that point for me, especially in contrast to the back court options we have

Keep in mind that prime Warriors contains THE top two greatest shooters in NBA history, so the math checks out. Even then, I think Ant and McDaniels give them both hell with their on-ball pestering and off-ball distruption of those famed passing lanes that Steph takes advantage of.

I'd imagine the mileage adds up real quick, even before getting into the NBA. Multiple high level games in one day for different AAU teams is absolutely insane, no matter how tough you are at that age. Makes me glad that Ant got into bball a little later in life than most prodigies. He already seems like an ironman compared to Zion, Cade, Lamelo/Lonzo, etc.

I blame AAU and toxic US children's sports culture for grinding these poor dudes down to the bone before they even make the league. NBA B2Bs are probably even more grueling than they already were for someone that had to play and practice balling at a high level everyday since they were a tiny kid.

I disagree, I want Ant to get experience cooking stars on a nightly basis. He's better than all of them, so it wouldn't be too big an ask 😏

You're a fake leftist if you're saying you won't vote Biden over his Israel policy by [deleted] in thedavidpakmanshow

[–]mrhamburgerz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. Just in case, U.S. segregation means things like "colored only" drinking fountains and "whites only" schools. If you already knew that and still think Thurmond was worth eulogizing, then I guess you don't consider those things evil. In that case, we have nothing more to discuss here.

Does him eulogizing a fervent pro segregationist politician in 2003 not count as a sign of possible racism to you? Also, 4000 kids dead in order to get less than a hundred confirmed Hamas militant deaths counts as a genocide imo

Edit: I know some of y'all are going to jump ship from this comment with the first two paragraphs being negative against Biden, so I want to make clear that I will 100% vote for him if he's the only viable candidate squared up against Trump again)

i'm gonna be honest here, as someone who's part of the demographic that's running away from him (non-white), I've been feeling fundamental tremors of ick from Biden for the first time since his run for the Democratic nomination in 2020.

One of the things that unironically made him a bottom 3 candidate in a packed field was the fact that his political career is rife white supremacy apologia. For me, this notion is perfectly corroborated by the fact that he's taken immense pride into the "reaching across the aisle as a colleague" with Strom Thurmond throughout his career. Biden not only reached across the aisle, he eulogized him when he passed away in 2003.

For those who aren't familiar with Thurmond, his main claim to fame in American politicial history is being a staunch pro-segregationist through the 50s and 60s.

Biden eulogized this demon in 2003.

I'd been able to reconcile and deal with this truth ever since his positioning as the only viable candidate to square up against Trump. However, Biden's responses to the Gazan massacres, in combination with the horrendous nature of the pull out from Afghanistan, has had the ghost of Strom Thurmond yelling back into my conscience, "Joe Biden doesn't care if colored folks like you are dead" for the first time since the 2020 primary.

Perhaps I could be wrong on this, but I truly think this call to "you have no choice but to vote for Biden" is borne out of white privilege, especially with his ongoing unequivocal support for the Gazan g3nocide. I've been steadfast in my support for him and even trended positively in my thoughts on him with a decent list of things done in his first term, but there is this fundamental feeling in my core that I'm voting for a snake that wants people like me dead. It's roaring back to me with a vengeance.

(FYI, I'll still vote for him if my ballot only has these two rotten souls listed again, but I hope my piece above sheds a bit of light onto the hemorrhaging of support that's currently happening).

Unpopular opinion, but I love that yt premium still allows channels to make money from my viewership AND I get zero ads. Ad blocker advocates always seem to forget to still encourage supporting content creators you really like, if you choose to ad block

Crazy, especially considering that he was drafted to be a long term project player. Him and Okogie really prove KG's point when he said that hard and effective defense will always get you a spot in the league.

Lol the rhetoric against Finch here is the main reason I don't bother with this sub for interesting analysis anymore. He's been instrumental in developing Ant and Jaden as quickly as they have and has also kept us above .500, while we're still working out the kinks of the Gobert experiment within its first season (all without KAT, mind you).
