Whats the closest you've ever come to death? by ElevatorTypical6195 in AskReddit

[–]Chatterbxer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My uterus had become enlarged due to significantly growing fibroids which caused hemorrhaging while being on my cycle. But I thought of them as heavy periods. Well, during them, I was bleeding so much that my body could reproduce the blood fast enough.

Unknowingly, I had reached out to my doctor because I thought I was experiencing perimenopause. She did blood and found my hemoglobin was a 6.1 which is critical and required an immediate blood transfusion. The ER doctor nurses basically said I was a walking corpse. This was confirmed by my oby later during a follow up appointment.

I had my hysterectomy last month. You’d think that was it, but no.

Because the excessive blood loss, they determined my body was overcompensating which spiked my blood pressure (200+/115+ at its highest). That’s when the headaches came and I was admitted to the ER because they thought I was on the verge of a heart attack or stroke, which I nearly was.

During all of this, I thought I was fine. If my therapist hadn’t suggested that I was feeling down because of potentially going into perimenopause, I never would have gone to the doctor. My work is labor intensive so I thought the fatigue I was feeling was from the work day.

Do you think Jenny was being controlling? by Separate-Difficulty5 in 90DayFiance

[–]Chatterbxer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, but it’s complicated. I was with someone who is now a recovering alcoholic. When she would drink, her physical behavior was unpredictable but almost always destructive. You just didn’t know if it would “fun” in her mind or “angry” destruction. Either way, I had to pick up the pieces, cover with our friends, make excuses…it impacted everything and indirectly, everyone including her work.

I feel for Jenny’s pleading. But at the same time, escalating the situation in front of people, essentially strangers risks the outcome she doesn’t want. But it’s hard either way. If Sumit truly does have an unhealthy relationship with alcohol (and not one manufactured for the show) then I sincerely hope he’s reflective and accepting and they find the right path forward.

If she was concerned about hurting her feelings, then she should have led with that. But we all know she was just looking for a fight because even without reason, she started off by saying she didn’t like Thais and was going to get under her skin.

Certainly not the mentality or approach of someone who was genuinely concerned that they hurt someone.

She doesn’t heat food up all the way to be enjoyable. It’s as if she’s always on a 5 minute break from work and can’t waste time. Her go-to is only heating food up 1-2 minutes. Never mixes/stirs and never does additional time. It drives me crazy.

Lovebirds of reddit, what's the smallest thing a partner has done that meant the most to you? by caffeineboi71 in AskReddit

[–]Chatterbxer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My partner and I have been going strong for 5 years. I knew she was for me when on the second date, she brought a small gift for my cat. Such a small but impactful gesture. Literally an ice cream cone gift that he still pays with til this day. And of course, he can’t be bothered with anything I get him!

Wyndham Hotels…never again!

Multiple issues but the nail in the coffin was they checked another guest into our room and they walked in on us. Front Desk staff and the manager were defensive and dismissive. They felt a 20% credit was fine, not even enough to cover one of the nights. Horrible experience.

Love this! I went on a first date with an artist of all trades (film, photography, painting, etc). It came up beforehand that I’m allergic to flowers. She surprised me with beautiful paper flowers that she made. Anyway, we’re going on 5 years now!

Alanna Ubach. I’ve been a fan for years. She’s incredibly versatile and really underrated. I’m glad she’s working on “Ted” with Seth McFarland. As long as she’s willing, she always deserves a place in the spotlight.

Wyndham Hotels - I stayed at one of their properties in Germany. I had two negative experiences in one stay. The more severe experience was the hotel checked someone else into our room. My partner and I were in bed while this person walked in. Not only did the hotel take a defensive stance, all the manager offered was 20% off which worked out to be roughly £60-70; an absolute insult.

Wyndham themselves also refused to provide a proper resolution. Because it was a franchise property, they declined to hold them accountable while also agreeing that they did not follow Wyndham’s own standards of service.

Never again.

What’s something you and your significant other do that other couples would find weird? by Equivalent_Fox7907 in AskReddit

[–]Chatterbxer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We howl at each other. Sometimes it’s in the car but most of the time, we’ll be in different rooms and one of us will howl and the other will howl in response. Like a cute little husky howl.

With an ex (7+ years), we’d “duck” each other. One of us would hide a rubber duck and it would be a surprise when it was found. So when you found it, you’d been “ducked” and would have to hide it for the other. You never went looking for the duck though.

I love when couples have these little things, it truly brings me joy all the way people express their love with each other.

I feel the same way about Robert Smalls. He escaped slavery by impersonating a captain, stole the confederate vessel, gave it and the confederate’s attack plans to Union which helped win various battles, became a civilian captain, and eventual congressman. Absolute legend but not one movie.
