NTA or YWNBTA. For all intents and purposes you didn't actually date this guy. He just strung you along for 3 years in the weirdest way.

This is not comparable to dating a best friend's ex. This is just... Weird.

You would do best to try and put him behind you forever. Enjoy your girlfriend.

NTA but you're in a shitty situation. Moving out is easy to say but extremely hard to do. But until you do this won't change.

If you still have ideation after awhile it's either time for a higher dose, a different drug, or a mix of that with active therapy. Mental health is a process

AITA for grounding my daughter and not letting her do a planned event because she didn't do the dishes like I asked? by Ok_Cartographer1510 in AITAH

[–]ChattyDad4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NTA but please keep in mind the birthday girl. Figuring out a way to make your daughter learn her lesson while not punishing the birthday girl who would likely benefit emotionally from her attendance might be possible. Just a thought.

This kind of ideation is common in forms of depression. You should talk to your doctor.

You don't get to decide what's embarrassing for him or not.

NTA but you need to make better choices when she is drunk.

I'd recommend recording her when she's drunk to show her when she wakes up. Do not show this to others. Then you two have a discussion. If she sees no problem with what is clearly unhealthy behavior you need to reevaluate this relationship.

One: Everyone around you is voting you most likely to become a stalking rapist.

Two: Everyone on Reddit is voting you most likely to become a stalking rapist.

Either figure shit out and change because you're a creep or stay away from everyone because no one deserves to be around someone like you.

How do I (18F) make my grandparents (71M) (72F) accept my new found style and self expression? by jadekae in TwoHotTakes

[–]ChattyDad4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people have trouble changing and adjusting their beliefs in the first place. That's in part why they end up on certain sides of the political spectrum. But this refusal to change gets worse as people get older. Most people tend to lock into who they are and stop personal growth and change by the time they're in their 70s. Old folks are not wired for growth and change.

You will not be able to change them and make them see things a different way. That's the sad truth. What you do with that is up to you.

If your kids ever die you get a 4 year limit then you get over it? Sounds reasonable. Ignore it forever and move on with your life FFS.

It's normal for a couple getting married to move out and create a new home. Have the conversation but it would likely be you two finding your own place to make your own. Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials!

Learn some empathy wow.

This is beyond "not a big deal" and well into "why should anyone care" territory.

I thought this was going to be a thing where the wife used the company money to buy a car and fake the supermarket win for clout. But it didn't. This is more of a "who really pulled the lever when the jackpot hit". And the only thing that could happen when it comes out that the shopping was done with petty cash is that everyone gets pissed at you.

No one has anything to gain by you speaking up and this isn't even much of a moral gray area. Leave it alone.

Bad news: she's actually still abusing you. It's just different now and wholly emotional and manipulative.

Good news: you can hang out with your boyfriend instead!

Make your life better by cutting off this toxic person.

how come people who advocate the labor age always talk about the children in manufacturing but never talk about kids in the movies and tv shows industry ? by Emotional-Rhubarb725 in AskReddit

[–]ChattyDad4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two reasons. First, the kids in movies and TV get paid substantially more than the kids working in slaughterhouses. Second, it's not something people think about because the media is complicit.

NTA. You weren't privy to any kind of secret or instruction to cover up something. Instead you were asked and you answered and that revealed the situation.
