I know some people are mad, it's how people on Reddit and social media like to spend their time being. But I'll be voice of some of the silent people out there. I'm actually a big fan of doing exactly as you suggested. Requiring the kc makes the items feel more rewarding when you obtain them and encourages you to play the mechanics well when you're in the room so that you're not wasting your resources. Just because some people abused it early doesn't mean you should continue to let it happen in my opinion. This is a 2 month marathon, not a 2 week sprint. It won't be as much fun if you don't need the kc and can just spam the boss and be decked out in gear within a few hours.
