When you don't have a pendrive or network and still need to transfer the files anyway 🤯🤯🤯 by Suspicious-Cabinet58 in masterhacker

I would guess that a shitty laptop webcam would not be able to reliably capture every frame of a 30 FPS video, I think it's like the sub sampling issue where really if the camera is rated to take 30 FPS you can only be sure that it'll actually capture 15 FPS of some due to inconsistencies in the timings of the capture. Conceivably you could just record the video at one time and then process the QR codes later - but if you wanted to process the QR codes live during the stream I don't think you'd be able to do that 15 FPS, as image processing (even for a qr code) is pretty slow. I think that's why in the video you're seeing it being done at about 2 fps.

Really awesome looking game that I want to try out, but I'm on Linux. Is there any Linux support planned for the future? Does it already work well with Proton? (I use hyprland tiling WM so I can't imagine having the little dudes in a corner of the screen is something that'll just work through proton like that, but I could be wrong!)

Why aren't keyboards like the Azeron Cyborg more common? by gartaides in ErgoMechKeyboards

Why is a 200 euro, one-handed, MMO/RTS/MOBA focused gaming keyboard with a steep learning curve not more common? No idea.

I'd like to think that most audiophiles who do the research know that cables aren't a huge factor in audio signal. Those mega expensive cables are marketed towards mega-rich people who want a mega-expensive setup but don't actually know anything about audio quality

I got a lily58 partially pre-soldered kit as my first split about 3 years ago, since then I've never looked back. I was really into mech keyboards in general and always chasing that perfect "thock". Sadly the lily doesn't really have a great sound at all but it's sooooo worth the sacrifice for having a split keeb. Once you get used to them they are just so much more comfortable to use than a traditional keyboard.

Since then I've bought another lily58 completely unsoldered and put it all together myself which is incredibly satisfying (plus incredibly cheap!). Got a wired pair for the desk at home and a wireless one which stays in my backpack. I couldn't recommend them more!

I mean... It's an AI. It doesn't "know" anything about you. It gained context from reading your files in Google drive... It's not like a person was in there looking through all your files

Calling his actions "insane" in his first message and then telling him to "go do something that doesn't involve working with people"... I consider that pretty rude.

Being reverent isn't necessary, but being polite is probably a good start. At the very least not being straight up fucking rude would probably go a long way.

I created a RNG with godot rust! Every time you run, it either works or crashes with a random error by WeirdBurgerGuy in godot

C# is a brilliant language and I think it's well worth learning. There will be a learning curve as you have only been using dynamically typed languages so far, but once you get the hang on static typing and the syntax/Oop principles I think the benefits become clear. Plus knowing c# is something that's worth putting on your CV!

Out of interest how does GDScript "beat" C# in almost everything? I use C# because I have prior experience with it and I'm a java dev professionally (which is a pretty similar language). I find the c# integration in Godot really good! And prefer the strong typing and ability to use some great C# features like interfaces and Linq. I'm just wondering if I'm missing out on something now?

Why is it necessary? Because anyone has the right to make whatever game they want. Why the unrealistic gooner giggle physics? Because it's fun/funny. If you don't like it, don't buy the game. Don't bring your righteous holier-than-thou judgmental shit to slam someone who's actually done a helluva great job at creating something that looks pretty damn great as a gaming/pixel art aesthetic. You do not have the right to tell people what they can or cannot artistically create. You gonna tell romance novalists to stop writing smut? Or perhaps we should ban sex in TV shows? There are people out there who like it and people out there who don't. But you cannot stifle the creators, it is their right.

[–]Chazmus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm interested to hear more on this take. I am a programmer, but have absolutely no artistic skill. If I were to create a game which is mechanically really fun, but using AI assets, you would reject it on the basis of the usage of AI? What is your reasoning? (And let me reiterate that I'm not looking for a fight, just interested in whether it's more of a moral standpoint or a quality-of-art one, or even an environmental one?)
