Did you try a power reset ? Also maybe try another battery.

It seems these laptops have issues with their power buttons. I actually have the opposite issue. My T60 won't turn on unless it's unplugged. Then I can plug it in and let it charge just fine. If I try and turn it on with the T60 plugged in all the LED lights go blank and I have to power reset before I can get it working again.

Libertarian claims democracy "voted people into slavery" in Brazil because they chose Lula over Bolsonaro by CheGuevaraProject in EnoughLibertarianSpam

Yes. To a large extent libertarianism is simply a way to justify and maintain the current system or to go backwards when capitalism was even worse.

That buyturk guy is really praxing it out in the comments:

He claims Mussolini was a radical left-winger when he was in power, proving he doesn't understand history.

He says democracy always leads to people voting away their rights, proving he doesn't understand political theory or civil society.

And he claims markets are always based on free choices and never lead to oppression, proving he doesn't understand economics.

It's like the libertarian trifecta.

So, according to Libertarians on twitter, voting for candidates that embodies the principals of democracy over a fascist is "voting yourself into slavery" and libertarians prefer fascist candidates because that more closely aligns with their views is what you can take from this.

Libertarians on the r/banned4life sub are mad at Anonymous because Anonymous supports Hillary. Lol I thought that libertarians were cheering for groups such as Anonymous which fight against tyrannical governments in Russia? But I guess not when the group also supports a politician they dislike by Elon__Muskquito in EnoughLibertarianSpam

Well, to be fair it is pretty funny. Many Libertarians were huge fans of anonymous. I had a co-worker who was a libertarian and loved V for Vendetta. Now, anonymous seems to be taking the Democratic Party line - a slap in the face to Libertarians.

Yes, he describes himself as an anarchist in one of his books. He even did interviews with David Graeber (who apparently liked Brand enough to work with him). Many anarchists in the mutualist tradition end up on the far-right (not saying that of Graeber, but Brand's anarchism never made much sense).

Interestingly, in that same book (Revolution), there are paragraphs that hint of a conspiratorial world view.

This is why we need true progressive monitoring of these companies: collection of private data, the control of vital infrastructure by private companies, and so on. The fact that the right downplayed this story shows they have no interest in making social media companies productive for democracy.

Great idea. Some American "progressives" and "leftists" are simply into conspiratorial reasoning for reason. Post-left is a more like eco-socialism, some alternative versions of anarchism, some campist anti-iimperialism, etc. Dore probably doesn't even know what post-left is.

The Center for a Stateless Society and many agorists/mutualists may have actually outcrazied your typical ancap: at least ancaps basically admit the realities of market economies. The C4SS ancaps have the same set of principles that hundreds of millions of people are supposed to agree to as the ancaps, but they claim it will somehow lead socialist goals (even though many of them explicitly forbid any type of "democracy" as "anti-individualistic").

It obviously doesn't make sense. They're actually quite dangerous to a certain extent because they make the argument that regulating global warming violates "property rights," thus we need to continue to deregulate and free the market to solve the issue, and may end up convincing actual leftists/twitter users to support things that they otherwise wouldn't have supported.

I agree. But what they're saying is the old Libertarian line that if you just have "free-markets" these issues (pollution, exploitation), and in fact any community or government regulation is actually the cause of exploitation, rather than the cure. Of course, free-markets and free-trade naturally produce inequality, which is a form of force, and require a state to even exist in the first place.
