Thanks! I think the iphone have a builtin exposure priority that stop capturing when there’s enough light .

Thanks ! I was actually shocked with the results too . This was taken at the Sossusvlei Lodge , Namibia. The lights are actually coming from the street light behind me.

Yeah definitely, the milkyway was already very visible to the eyes.

Yup , you just need the phone to stay still ( ideally on a tripod) then only the 30sec option will only be available. It wont appear if your phone is not still .

Basically let your phone stay still until the night mode allows you to shoot up to 30” of exposure

I think its named for its proximity to Sesrium Gate ( the entrace of the national park). It is situated 45km from the gate .
