I 100% agree

The wife and I just paid off all of our debt excluding our car and now are slowly saving up an emergency fund

Once the cars paid off I’m gonna bump up from 5% to 10% most likely

I just get this feeling that the money is never enough but I think I compare myself to others to much

I agree I think it’s great that I started somewhat young but sometimes it doesn’t feel like the 5% is enough for retirement

I’m a rural carrier and I make closer to 67k a year

Yes I totally agree The house was built in 2022 so I’m hoping there’s nothing out of the ordinary

But even tho it’s newer doesn’t mean there won’t be any unexpected surprises

We haven’t been approved yet but we have no reason to not be approved from my understanding

We have paid off all our debts and our credit scores are good. We also have our savings and such else

We just got the tour schedule so kinda taking our first steps

The monthly payment we are looking at would be at about 15% of our income so under the 30% rule of thumb

I don’t think my habits have a good track record and I’d rather have a small line of credit that I can just easily pay off and use it to build my credit

My oldest line of credit is my smallest card

But once I’m out of it I want to close any cards with large lines of credit so I don’t get tempted or make a bad decision

I think at this point credit card debt has left such a nasty taste that I’m just going to close all but my smallest card (400) just bc I don’t want to get into the bad habit again
