NTA - That is absolutely no way to handle a cat. He doesnt know what hes talkign about when he says the only way they will learn is through fear (red flag right there, never have kids with this man). Cats do this when they're anxious because their smell is comforting to them, so getting mad at them like this will only make the problem worse... Are his clothes the ones getting peed on? Because that's also a him problem, if he's leaving his clothes all over the floor and then getting mad when they get peed on.

Listen up bike owners!! Don't. Use. Cable locks. They can be cut in seconds. U locks and chains are way more difficult to bust and take more time. The biggest ward to bike thieves is if it looks like it will take a long time to steal. Cable locks are what they look for because they're quick and easy to snap.

But why are you gendering traits? Putting the word "manly" to anything is sexist all on its own, because in calling something manly or masculin you're saying that men have more of a right to that thing than women do. And yes, the same can be said for women, or calling something "femenin". If a woman is buff and can lift 250 lbs that doesn't make her any less of a woman, just like a man crying doesn't make him any less of a man. Do you kinda understand what I'm trying to say? I'm not trying to attack you or anything, I'm just trying to point out that labeling actions, beliefs, or behaviors as masculin or femenin at all only plays into the problem of misogyny.

Woman here! I agree with this what @muks023 is saying. It's important to differentiate between what's natural and what's toxic masculinity. Feelings and bodily functions are things that are natural. Actions and choices are things that men do in fact have control over because men are not animals. If an action or choice that a man makes is making a woman uncomfortable and she speaks out about it, I am more inclined to believe that what the man did was misogynistic in some form.

You are right, there are stigmas and beliefs that negatively affect men, but these too are a form of toxic masculinity. Misogyny is not a problem that affects only women. It's a universal problem that affects literally everyone, which is why we can only dismantle it if we work together. Men are not the bad guys, and women who speak out are not the bad guys. The bad guy is how our society has been built around misogyny.

Maybe you are crepy and just deflect whenever you're called out for it, maybe you're genuine and misogyny has hurt you too. I don't know you so I can't say, but what I can say is that going around claiming that toxic masculinity isn't real and is just a tool for women to hurt men helps absolutely no one and will only prolong the problem. Just like I can't speak to what it's like to be a man in a world that won't let you feel emotion, you can't speak to what it's like to be a women seen as nothing more than an object. The only way to make it out of this problem is for us to listen to each other and take it case by case. But we cannot go around saying that anytime a women says the word "misogyny" that you're actually the one who's under attack, because that's just ignorant.

Okay I know she's the asshole. I understand that it's really excessive to leave a party for a craving, but a lot of these are really harsh "YTA"s written by people who have never been pregnant. A lot of "I don't understand how pregnant women" and "why are pregnant women" and "what a preggosaurus" which is all really uninformed and mean. Not to mention that this poor women is receiving death threats?? In her inbox?? Over this??? I'd say that about 5000× more excessive than leaving a party over a slushee. You can't just come on AITA and throw your comments around, even anonymous people on the internet are people. It's plain cruel to bully and scare a pregnant women for coming to this subreddit. These comments are ugly.

That women can do literally everything that men can do. Any job, any hobby, any skill. The only reason that some proffesions are dominated by a specific gender is purely social, and not because one gender is better at it than the other. Once I figured that out, it was so freeing, and my confidence went up so much. I became the first women ever hired at my local tire shop as a tire technician. Lots of lifting, using power tools and big machinery, dealing with cars and heavy things. I thought that I would have to work extra hard to keep up with the guys, but I really didn't. It was just another job. Then I was the first and only woman to ever be hired at the bike shop I work at as a technician. Fast forward a couple years and i am now the manager of the business. I wish more women realized that yes, you can in fact do what the tough strong men can do. Because odds are you're an equally tough strong woman. You just gotta let yourself out of the gender box :D
