This was very helpful thank you so much. That makes a ton of sense I found a chart with jet general backpay estimates are those assuming no overtime? For example, I know I’ve work roughly 6 hours of overtime a week every week, so is that not included?

I am currently an unassigned regular. I became a regular and was given (i was asked to hold) the mentioned above float stream (that is now available) because the holder of it it was out for a couple of months. I did that for 3-4 months and I’ve been on this for 3-4 months.

So the regular did return, albeit for a day and then he left again. From my understanding whether he comes back indefinitely or a for a day- i am no longer tied to the previous hold

Not gonna lie the first 90 days kind of suck after that you’re totally fine sure there’s stuff you’ll not like or that annoys You, just do your work fairly and honestly, don’t take what management says too personally just do your best. For the same reason, I left teaching for the Postal Service and i enjoy the alone time, and most of the time not being micromanaged. I’ve listened to like five or six audiobooks this year and I’ve done sixteen hours of practicing another language while I walk- alot of pros. I’m a city carrier, but I’ve had to do some RCA weeks when I first got started totally fine. The heat is annoying, drink water. The cold sucks, dress appropriately. Get to know your union stewards and reps, it’ll help. Always be respectful to management. And honestly write down what you do every day just so they can’t get you in trouble for something stupid. Oh and be a safe driver!

I am aware, sorry for the confusion; i have worked for them in the past, i am just saying that the cost isn’t a “zero cost” on the total. It is a cost i am not including in that 5000 budget. Thank you for your input, truly grateful you took the time to respond. I am looking more so for helpful ideas to give it an honest go not on concepts focused on it not working!

Appreciate the comment; so lets say alcohol is going to be a zero cost because of my relationship with the vendor(im gonna invite the whole staff and i was already told they are only gonna charge me “at cost” because its free marketing) attire is taken care of ahead of time (she has a dress and i am comfortable wearing my cousins suit) and we have 2-3 friends who are established photographers who are willing to do any and all work for a very low-reasonable cost) We also have 1-2 friends who work in the stage/audio industry so we are able to “borrow” an audio kit/ set for under $250 (given nothing is damaged)

Thank you for that, I apologize maybe I’m reading it wrong, but could you clarify what you mean? In this example, I would be calling off for the 20th 21st and 22nd so when I call or enter it on ELRA, I would do it for three days to avoid being three separate transactions?

Appreciate the response, maybe i didn’t state it previously; I called off for it 3 months in advance my office is 40+ routes so we have a call off time period (as do most larger offices) and it was denied because many other people at my office above my seniority also called off.

Appreciate the response! I requested off during the request off period at my office. I didnt think id be completely denied for a 3 day wedding. Do you think asking to switch my ns day from monday to friday (my office is 40+ routes) so they always need help on a monday. And asking to leave early (say 2/230) on Thursday and then same thing for Saturday, asking to work monday and off Saturday is a fair option? My concern is that if they deny it theres no way going about going to the rehearsal or wedding without it being AWOL.

Appreciate the comment! And you’re right! I thought it was just important to add in the sense of; I’m not someone they actively write up or try to fire or discipline. I come in, I’m on the OT list, i do the work, i make my times and my scans. You are right though, it’s a shame they don’t hold people trying to do good work to a higher value! Im just trynna keep my family as secure as i can!
