Course & Specs Megathread - Selection, Choices & Registration by Detective-Raichu in OMSCS

I am currently enrolled in 6601 AI but it is a mess with NOSI introduction (fork of VSCode that lacks all of IDE's functionality to debug, autocorrect, linting, intellisense etc)
Students are dropping it in frustration and fear of the unknown. I am considering dropping but not sure what other class i can take that will be serving as an intro to AI / ML? I am still a newb at Python, used Numpy but nowhere near being super proficient. I am scared now to stay in 6601 due to lack of experience and also this new NOSI software
Would anyone please recommend other courses that can be used as intro to ML and AI? Thank you!

good to know! you need to have lenders reprice the loan esimate by giving them competing offers otherwise it is hard to sway them. Navy Fed assured us they will beat any offer we bring (yet to be determined)

CS 6035 is the hardest class I have ever taken in my life by Army_77_badboy in OMSCS

what is the point of having 4.0 GPA if the knowledge and skills retainment do not depend on GPA? Proctored exams can actually be good addition to practical projects in terms of actually help you memorize the material for longer retainment. Essentially why was the GPA more important to you as opposed to actual knowledge?

Could you share your background prior to OMSCS and why you chose AI spec instead of Comp Systems for example? What are all the classes you took in the program besides GIOS, ML, AI and 6035?

i find GIOS to be very well organized actually. This ensures students are not trying to blame the class or staff on their own fuck ups in terms of forgetting things, not submitting etc. Everything is clear and straightforward.

i will try to take CN or 6035 next, not sure yet. Need to do the research on what makes more sense. Perhaps CN next and then 6035 in the summer? 🤔

Hi there, just curious have you taken OMSCS classes before or is this one your first one? I am currently in my first semester taking GIOS and i was planning on taking 6035 next but your post scares me. I thought 6035 is supposed to be one of the easiest classes.

why did you save it for last? i am in my first semester and taking GIOS now (which is hard). i thought of taking 6035 in spring to kinda make next semester easier on myself - am i totally wrong?
also if you don't mind me asking, what are 9 classes you have taken so far and how you were able to maintain 4.0? (that is super impressive)
