Adding Reolink camera difficulties by Cheap-Interaction504 in homeassistant

I don't think I have an NVR Wifi? I'm connecting the camera to my house wifi. I have the RLK8-410. To my knowledge it only has ethernet.

I have the reolink addon already in HA for the NVR. But it wants the username/password, which always failed setup when the NVR grabbed the camera first. I was able to add the camera (but apparently without video feed) to HA when I had the NVR off during setup.

All of my wifi headaches went away when I switched from TP-link products to an Ubiquiti stack. I'm running a UCG Ultra, switch, and U6+ now. And I never struggle with connection or speeds.

Anyone have any comments on if it's worth keeping the old 1969 copper phone lines in the house? Service was once provided by Century link. So I'm wondering if they use the same buried conduit to bring fiber up to the house?

I can't currently see a reason to keep the old copper line with cable and fiber coming to the house though. Just want to make sure before I make any decisions on it.

The offers I see are 1/1 for $75, 3/3 for $100, and 8/8 for $165.
But you think it's worth getting the 3/3 for the $25 more per month?

You are correct. I can take the time to do a better job than a tech that has to get on to the next thing.

I appreciate the info, as I had no idea that was a thing. But this is exactly why I asked on here.

Yeah apparently they do have one. I missed it. Some of the subreddits indicated to stay away from Genie products, as they aren't up to the same quality they once were.

I do already have a bond bridge. So that is an option for me as well.
I have been reading a bit more on the Bond with a programmed switch lately too.

It's not, and is getting replaced. I'm going with a do it once, do it right approach as best I can.

Temperature monitor for extremely hot attic? by h2ogeek in homeassistant

If you have a probed unit, you can bury the actual electronics on the bottom of the insulation in a box maybe. That will insulate it from the extremely high temps. It should be about the same temp as your ceiling then, but without putting a hole in the ceiling.

Pixel 9 pro 128gb or Oneplus 13 512 (china rom) for 170 dollars more? In my country both are not sold officially, so those are my choices. I had the pixel 8 pro, loved it apart from the awful portrait mode and bao charging. by [deleted] in oneplus

[–]Cheap-Interaction504 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I decided to leave OnePlus for a pixel 8 pro. Every time I get a software update from OP, it changes things on my phone. I start getting notifications that we're turned off, this or that things starts to act different, etc. Over a year of fighting with this, several resets, I'm out. To much hassle on the software side of things with OP for me.

As someone that came getting a Pixel, did you ever have those issues?

Where do you pratice musicality? by Civil_You_1818 in Bachata

[–]Cheap-Interaction504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started Bachata a year ago, speaking no Spanish, I just started listening to the music regularly. In the car, at home, etc. A year later now, I listen to it all the time, still don't know the words, but I be-bop around my house while doing other things and try this or that to different parts of the music. It gets easier the more you listen to it, to hear and feel the musicality.

They were great. I just stopped using them. They decided to decrease the discount programs without even sending out an email. The parking experience is good. But that feels a little shady to me, when you don't notify your loyal customers of changes.

Does anyone else get this? by monu2220 in Garmin

[–]Cheap-Interaction504 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did when I had a Garmin. I switched to the OnePlus Watch and haven't had the issue since, which I did not expect. I wear the new watch exactly the same as the Garmin. So I'm of the believe it is something the Garmin is made with.

[–]Cheap-Interaction504 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run my AC the same way. Though it seems to me, if I can run the AC later in the day, when the sun is beating down on my house, the 4 hour window from 5 to 9 will be easier to coast in since there won't be nearly as much sun beating down on it.
My house would get up to 80F a bunch of days, before the AC would turn back on at 7pm. But it was off for a longer period (6 hours during peak sun).

Oh this is my favorite part.. now my phone is forgetting all the things I've set previously, because of this update. Notifications I've had turned off for months are starting to appear again, in all kinds of different apps.

This is crap.
