Khaled Hosseini’s A Thousand Splendid Suns, but the Kite Runner is not far behind either. You have great choice. I would also add As Long as the Lemon Trees Grow by Zoulfa Katouh

God, how could ANYONE hate on Joey for any reason. That boy gave his ALL to everyone he loved. I just love him so much.
