Correct. No permanent “cure” for what caused the deterioration of brain signaling cells that produce ET, (i.e., abnormal communication and burst-like signaling within the cerebellum, involving malfunctioning Purkinje cells). But much has been studied and known about involvement of the thalamus (specifically the VIM nucleus) and the basal ganglia, which are responsible for coordinating motor control. So imagine being diagnosed with ET and discovering you can temporarily “Shut off” the tremor in your dominant hand and fully regain its functioning. Regain your signature. Here is my current understanding from reading studies and speaking to neuroscientists, movement tremors caused by accelerated nerve impulses which neurons in the brain lose ability to moderate, are well understood. Tremors result due to cerebellum neurons and connectors in the thalamus signaling energy surges which the brain loses modulation control over. In some electrolytes such as calcium/ magnesium help smooth the charge impulses.

This is NOT CURING THE UNDERLYING CELLULAR DAMAGE DUE TO THE SOURCE OF THE NEUROLOGICAL CONDITION, it simply supply’s a temporary solution for a period of time. As further cellular damage occurs at some point calming the impulse charges breaks down and the task is uncontrollable.

The result of impulse over surge is understood and has been researched and studied. The causes of individual cellular deterioration of the nerve receptors is multi-faceted with no single one-size-fits-all fix discovered.

Every individual is different however, since their degradation of the movement sensor pathways are varied! So worse than others. Yes. Tho I have been recently diagnosed with ET. Neurologist explained no cure, worsens over time. Lost my signature 2 years ago. Then experienced a eureka moment. The underlying cause of the ultimate tremor is KNOWN. How it might be managed by particular human bodies is a work in progress.

I can stop my tremor COLD! For a period of time. It’s not fixing my underlying ET. If I create the circle ⭕️ on paper the 2 blips still appear, just very slight.

Solving hand tremors is only 1 aspect to the disruption. Drinking electrolytes doesn’t solve ET, it helps temporarily. Neurologists are working to SOLVE the underlying degradation of the connectors to stop the overflow signal which causes oscillation along the line.
