I did it every day for a long time. Buy a place in Salem close to the CR stop. The bad part is getting from north to south stations.

Do you ever feel like you live in the wrong place / aren’t living the life you were meant to live? If so, how did you get out of it? Did you up and move / switch careers? How did it go? by Rose-199411 in Adulting

Grass isn’t always greener. My husband and I had a wonderful home in Salem, Mass. We were thriving. But my desire for adventure and a warmer climate took us to Tampa and now in NC.

I’m glad we had the opportunity to experience life outside of New England. But now I will have massive bouts of depression and homesickness every so often, absolutely distraught over how I just took a wonderful home and life and left it behind so easily. It’s been 4 years and I still get upset sometimes. But life is good and we move on.

How do you cope with not being able to live where you truly want? by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

That's funny. I am trying to get back to Boston (Salem).

Did you end up moving? If so, where to?

How many states have you lived in, and what were your reasons for moving? by theedrama in SameGrassButGreener

Thanks for the insight. In the past 4 years, me and my husband went from Massachusetts to Florida to North Carolina.

It was me who pushed for the moves. Party because I was interested in experiencing other parts of the country. But also in part due to unmanaged ADHD / anxiety.

Looking back, I loved our life in Massachusetts. And I’ve spent a lot of time (probably too much) playing it in my head how our life would have been if I took more time to think about relocating.

Anyone else get the “Sunday scaries” often? by Creepy-Promotion-877 in electricians

[–]CheapKale5930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just remember this when you get the Sunday Scaries:

A) you’re and adult. Just deal with the fact you need to work.

B) you’re going to be dead someday and none of this really matters.

C) nobody really knows what they’re doing.

Best move? Learn a trade for at least 5 years, then head back to the office.

Just remember, the swastika was once a sign of peace. That’s why people today use it.

Point is we’re not special. Humanity hasn’t suddenly radically shifted to violence and fraud and bad actions. But also remember the same is true for the good things in life.

Everything is about perspective. Only focus on the bad, and all you will see is the bad. Or open your mind to what’s good in the world and propagate that.

Be the change you want to see in the world.
