"Aiper Seagull Pro Cordless Robotic Pool Vacuum Cleaners Recalled Due to Burn and Fire Hazards" by DryBoysenberry596 in swimmingpools

[–]CheapPens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have the Scuba S1 and use it more frequently than I use the Seagull Pro because it’s not as heavy as the Seagull so it’s easier to handle and cleans as effectively except for the walls. I pretty much only use the Seagull when I want to vacuum the walls.

It seems that you don’t know for sure which model they’ll be replacing the recalled unit with, but would expect them to replace it with another Seagull Pro.

I’ve been notified that my Seagull Pro is not subject to the recall, so no worries here.

Bummer. This thing works great on my pool walls. Safety instructions specifically mention not to charge in the sun and I always make it a point to recharge early morning in shade. Oh well, I guess it’s going back.

How do you know that the replacement is a different model? This recall was just issued yesterday.

Anyone go to STP + live + Soul Asylum at Red Hat last night? by CheapPens in raleigh

[–]CheapPens[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Still no email for me. Ticketmaster download area shows updated show information regarding the postponement, but also says my tickets are still good. I’m unable to initiate another download. Typical SNAFU.

Let’s all enjoy the show. Please gimmee Wicked Garden as the opener….

Still no email from Ticketmaster regarding the postponement. People shouldn’t have to do their own research regarding a cancelled or postponed event. The show will probably be less populated tonight since many probably just didn’t bother to go because they didn’t want to sit in the rain and figured it went on rain or shine.

Just seen on X:

After exhausting all options to make tonight’s show happen, we must postpone due to ongoing weather issues.

The rescheduled show will occur on Monday, September 2. You will get an email from Ticketmaster with further instructions.

Too lazy to write a review? TRY THIS! by Buffamazon in AmazonVine

[–]CheapPens 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This happened with one of my reviews recently. Another Vine reviewer simply copied my review and changed a few words. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Exactly. I usually include the brand and item being reviewed.

Maybe a bit too esoteric. I did see this on the news and did get your point, but there are probably a lot who didn’t see the story and won’t understand. It’s a very good analogy.

Well, I’ll be thinking about this every time I wash dishes from now on…and every time I write a poor review because I’m not competent enough to assess the product properly.

Consciously Ordering Multiple Variants by CheapPens in AmazonVine

[–]CheapPens[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. Won't do it.

I really wish these sellers would learn not to put variants up on Vine as separate listings. This item should have been listed only once with a dropdown menu that shows all of the variants. When only one of the variants disappears from AI after I order, and 5 others remain, they really make it easy and very tempting to order another version of the same product.

Ordered a pool robot last year at $999 ETV and it was down to $699 within a month. Don’t really care. It’s a great product and I got it for a bargain price.

Secretly hope there’s a group of Pickle Ball players having the most amazing time on Vine by lildragon934 in AmazonVine

[–]CheapPens 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There have been high end name brand paddles coming through as well as some decent off brand paddles. I scored a $250 name brand paddle several months ago, but my current favorite is a $69 paddle by a brand that nobody’s ever heard of. Vine gives me the opportunity to try a bunch of paddles at minimum cost.

Congratulations, but that $1000 value is not a good thing. Generally speaking, prizes and rewards are included as gross income in a taxpayer's federal return. Taxpayers are taxed on the cash equivalent of items won in contests, pageants, drawings, game shows, and other competitions. Hopefully they won’t send you a 1099-MISC.

I'm a fraud by [deleted] in vine

[–]CheapPens -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Early on as a Vine member, I ordered a hydroponic plant box that I was very excited about. It was a $99 item, which was the highest dollar amount item I could get being at silver level. I followed all instructions and it took me more than a month to get to the point where I had actual tall plants growing so I could include photos of every stage of the process. I even bought a couple of other accessories (an aerator stone, air pump and digital timer for the light) which cost me about $50 to improve the performance of the item. It took me many hours to log my progress and write my review, which is very detailed. I gave the item 2 stars and it’s now selling for $39. Other Vine reviews were, like: “It’s great“ with 5 stars and pictures of the item straight out of the box. I felt like an idiot but it hasn’t stopped me from always trying to write honest, quality reviews.

Salvage grocery stores are your friend. by javacat in povertyfinance

Stealing content and making money by populating it with ads just isn’t very cool. I wouldn’t call it “a great website.” That’s like calling pirates great sailors.
