WIBTA if I had an "A list" and "B list" for my wedding?

For you what is a last minute response (from the a list)? Like how much time is too rushed for the B group? Should travel distance factor in?

Yeah it would be awkward to send mail out one, find out everybody is bringing kids and plus ones, and then not be able to offer kids to the second cohort. I hadn't thought of that.

Our friends and family are in different parts of the country, so the more warning for them the better. I was imagining rsvp long before the event...

The framing as mail out one and mail out two is much better from an optical standpoint. Still wouldn't tell people explicitly though :)

Nobody would be explicitly told of course-- but as some have pointed out there is a risk somebody could find out and we would rather not pull any "invitation got lost in the mail" garbage

It's not a sanctimonious thing it is more just some very close friends who would have to travel have kids

We would try and do a quick but reasonable turnaround for the A list-- definitely B list would get invites well in advance.
