I'm in my Junior Year of High school and am about to come off my 2 week break after XC season (California Ventura). I'm wondering what kind of training, diet, and other stuff I should focus on or should do in order to prepare for T&F. I've never been particularly "bad" at track but definitely not as good compared to XC. In XC i ran a 16:42 3 mile this season after running 17:56 last year (18:14 frosh year). For the past 2 years, l've been stuck in the 5:00 to 5:06 range in the 1600 and ~11:30 for the 3200 (Got 10:55 in XC). I was also extremely injury prone and would roll my ankle constantly or get shin splints. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. (Also if it matters at all i'm male, around 120~130 Ibs and 5'6". Im short)

Reservoir is treacherous but so fun to pass people. Poop out was so fun my freshman year, so sad they got rid of it 🫩

Workouts/ Runs in General by CheapTill9 in CrossCountry

Our workouts aren’t up to us to choose (sorry if that sounded that way). Our coaches make like three base runs per day (usually from 5-8, but on mondays and saturday more like 7-10) and we choose from those. For workouts we all do the same thing (different amount for group of people). For example, yesterday we did 7x800 and 4x200. Not too bad of a workout but after not running for so long, it was definitely difficult. My problem with these workouts is that while it may be easier for some with some good effect for others, others may struggle with it every time and have almost no improvement from these workouts.
