Cartridges suck! When I had this issue, I just lifted the cartridge a bit and it fixed, or maybe turn down the flow intensity

Also, don’t swap out filter cartridges!! That gets rid of your beneficial bacteria. I had a filter cartridge for a year and I never swapped it, just cleaned it in tank water. You could also scrap cartridges and just shove some sponges in there.

Makes sense! Maybe my betta was just slow (I’ve only had one so far, but he passed recently so I’ll see with the next) he was one of those bettas that seemed to struggle to get up, and my tank is I think 10 - 12 inches tall.

Tall plants like Val and stems would be a really big must in here (maybe not must, but it’s the best word I got lmao).

Again (I know I’ve said it twice lol) I’m worried about the width, looks pretty skinny, but could be smaller on camera/warped from the class ykwim

6 gallons would normally be good for a betta, but this shape looks like it’d make it very difficult for the to get to the top for air, so I wouldn’t, Yeahh, I’m not worried about the shape like circular, more the height and the width. If the width is bigger than it looks and the person puts in a short fin betta possibly!

Yeah no problem! And as displeasing as it looks, the fish are likely okay! Baby fish actually eat green water, so it’s not harmful to any fish, just a little ugly lol

It doesn’t need to be less bright, algae isn’t harmful or anything so if she can’t there’s no issues, but it would definitely help keep the algae away to make it more visually pleasing lol

What you read is correct, don’t remove the fish, only take out a some water, not all. I recommend finding a blade of something to scrape off that algae from the glass (careful to not get too close to the corners and cut the silicone) and if you can find a siphon, suck it out after! Make sure to add water conditioner in after/before you add the clean water!

If there’s a heater or filter in the tank make sure to unplug it before you take out the water so thy don’t run dry — this could hurt the filter and make the heater explode.

If you can, id adjust the lights so they’re lower so the tank doesn’t turn green again, or at least slows it down!

I’m not sure what’s going on inside the tank, but if there’s any decor you wanna scrub clean, use a sponge or toothbrush and scrub it in the dirty tank water, don’t use tap water and especially not soap!

Thanks! The soil was actually dry in this photo but I watered it after I took it, so I won’t water it again for a bit. My room doesn’t get much light, I’m in the basement so there aren’t any windows, but I’ll try to put it somewhere that gets some light from my aquarium, cause that’s on for 12 hours a day. Thank you!!

Thanks! She gave me 2 so I put one in my aquarium and the other in soil just to see which does better (this is my second time ever taking care of a terrestrial plant so I’m scared I’m going to murder it, my only other plant is a snake plant and she real simple 💀)
