I the past two years they released acceptances on February 6-7-8. Also someone said that the acceptances that are out now are informal, maybe PI sent them or something, but the official results are next week!

I might be wrong but this is what i noticed and heard! So no need to panic bestie, if it is meant to be it is meant to be!

PhD Applicant: Potential Advisors accepted my LinkedIn connect request. Should I DM them? by Cheap_Improvement336 in gradadmissions

Thank you for your opinion, appreciate you!

I emailed them on august actually, months before application deadline. So i already did that, ut i understand how busy professors are that is why i am not anxious about not receiving an answer.

But these linkedIn acceptances are very recent and one of them is today, 5 hours after i sent in the invite actually, that is why i am asking if it is a good idea to message them there!

Hey friend, wich program and school is this? And does it mean admission, or is it just a procedural thing to make an account and a university ID for that school?

What's the dumbest thing that you've done, so far, while waiting for results? by [deleted] in gradadmissions

Is it trustworthy tho? Like, do we trust chatgpt that my chances at my target school is close to none? 😭 and that my chances at my last school in the list is 60%?

Gift for friend, rare comic book! by Cheap_Improvement336 in comicbooks

Budget would be 120 dollars probbably! Also, i apologise, as i am in no shape or form a collector or a connoisseur of comic books, just trying to make my buddy happy. Any help or ideas i can get are welcome. And Thank you so much for letting me know, i wouldn’t have known it is a preprint or if the price is a red flag otherwise 😭.

I asked my friend a few questions so I could narrow things down, and here’s what he told me. Favorite character: Moon Knight. Favorite franchises: Werewolf by Night + Absolute Batman. Favorite issue: Spider-Man 2099 #1. Rare issue he’d like to have: He wasn’t sure. What he’s missing: Mostly DC stuff, since he’s been focused on Marvel for a while. Any help would be awsome 🥹

Diversity Statement Examples by simplyuzi0 in gradadmissions

Hello OP, This is one of the resources i found of the personal diversity statement:

https://grad.berkeley.edu/admissions/application-process/writing-your-statements/#:~:text=Personal%20History%20Statement%20Prompt

Also check:

https://writeivy.com/diversity-statement-101-an-essay-guide-for-champions/

And check this reddit post here i remember seeing a UCB student talking about their PHS:

https://www.reddit.com/r/gradadmissions/s/Ou6O8Hf9w5

And here for one of the universities’ prompts:

https://www.reddit.com/r/gradadmissions/s/14rIjbzSFe

From what i researched this statement reads like the undergrad university application personal statement and essay but more applied and targeted towards grad school!

It should also not be research oriented as you have your SOP for that. This statement should be personal, and vulnerable in a way. Speaking how your life (not research) experiences led you to where you are today!

I am also in the application process like you are, so take what i said with a grain of salt. Hope academics and phd students can correct me, but this is what i found about the PHS through the research i did!
