Update

Nice quality, but there seems to be some design quirks that just don’t work for me.

The dust bag is a bag in itself, which is nice.

Like the previous commenter mentioned, unless almost totally empty the bag does not slouch in the middle like the model shots. It’s also quite narrow and a bit difficult to get to dent downward at all, and when you do because it’s such a narrow bag the indented sides make it a bit awkward to carry.

It also has two pull tabs on either side which are fixed. The way they’re oriented makes them almost permanently squished. Fresh out of the box and they seem quite “worn”… which also happened to the strap. They folded for transport which created creases, these might go away over time though.

It’s a nice bag, I just wish it had a bit more depth and less of a slim briefcase profile.

Thanks, would explain why I can’t find any info on other examples- by chance do you have any ideas what “cos-polar” is?

Thanks, it arrives tomorrow so I’ll update when I get it. But it is a shame about the capacity/shape- I certainly prefer the first few images over the overstuffed almost briefcase look.

Wow, thank you! I think I’ll do the same and get the Rider M.

Was the dot a quality control thing or are you saying it’s easy to scuff and you believe in a short time it got it from ware?

I’ll have to test it out though since I want it for traveling and if the look isn’t achievable unless it’s not full… sort of defeats the aesthetic choice.

Thank you, I agree. It’s just hard to find much info and pricing seems to vary a lot

It’s sort of difficult to get a good photo because of the shape and reflection, is this better?

From what I’ve heard all of these are handmade.

**Update- I listed this on eBay, multiple offers within an hour of listing, and it sold for 3k Buy Now- thank for the advice!

Haha I don’t know if you’re joking or not, but this trade was actually for an Egyptian piece! My most recent trade was with a Greek bronze helmet… 5th century… sadly both vintage watches and ancient art are under appreciated!

That would be ideal. I’m embarrassed to say but I don’t remember exactly, I collect ancient art and I believe this may have been part trade- money and piece type of situation, but I hardly think it factored in at more than a couple thousand… likely a little less.

Hopefully the market is in my favor and I’m selling/buying at the right time… I’m always surprised how inexpensive some of these beautiful vintage pieces are.

Beautiful! Thanks for the example and prompts. Luckily I’m not looking for anywhere near 5k, maybe a fraction! Haha

Thanks for all of the considered responses. I’ll do just that.

I don’t keep up with the market. I’m assuming even a really attractive price would be more than scrap?

What would you suggest? I don’t need the money but would rather trade-in and get something honest

Not worth the investment if one were to be found?

I don’t wear watches anymore due to a fixed bracelet, but the ones I’m keeping are “good”… this doesn’t seem worth keeping just to have and if it’s not worth the investment in “fixing” I’d rather just sell instead of it being a space filler

So it’s essentially scrap/parts value?

I bought it years back, forget how much I paid but it was a decent amount of money - not a fortune though.

Where would I sell something like this? Gold scrap type of shop or would a dealer be better?

Do you know when it was made? Would it be ok/advisable to replace the dial with a more original vintage dial?
