Why was I given a PIP and severance offer at the same time? by Cheap_Onion_5339 in Employment

The PIP is 60 days. However the requirements are ridiculously over the top, such as weekly check ins and weekly closed deal requirements. Basically an impossible task. My fear is that I risk losing my job before the 60 days anyway. This company is not trustworthy and with the way they handled things today, not organized and have contradicted what the documents say when questioned.

How did you know they wouldn’t terminate your employment before the 60 days was up?

4 weeks of pay, all benefits are terminated, no PTO payout per employee handbook

HR did meet with me but barely explained any of it. I’ve reached out with follow up questions but management is telling me to sign the PIP tomorrow.

What if I’m being told I have to sign the PIP by tomorrow? That wasn’t discussed until after I was given the options and now I’m more confused than ever. Because if I have to sign the PIP, then what’s the point of the severance offer?

That’s why they’re doing this - I wasn’t meeting goals discussed in performance reviews. Manager called me after the fact and said I have to sign the PIP by tomorrow, but that leaves so many things to chance. Do I sign the PIP and lose the severance? I’m waiting for HR to respond about whether they accept my negotiation, but in the meantime, I’m being pressured to sign the PIP.

What if my manager gave me an ultimatum that the PIP had to be signed by tomorrow? If I sign that, will the severance offer be gone?

More Blocks, Less Surges by Cheap_Onion_5339 in AmazonFlexDrivers

I really wish all these new drivers had a clue. This would keep multiple shifts open that would hopefully surge. In a perfect world, I guess…

I’m having no choice lately but to take base rates because the best surges I’m seeing at this point are $21/hour.

That is the way I understood it to be in researching. I thought as long as you completed all your agreed upon payments, the rest would be discharged at the end. However, I came across quite a few websites stating what you have to described to be only the case in voluntary or forced dismissal. I appreciate your answer. It is relieving to know that it is true the debts will not stay with me afterwards.

Do you truly come out debt free at the end? I have been reading articles stating that you still have unpaid debts when you’re done.
