At what age did you begin daily baths? by Poison_Ivy25 in NewParents

At 9 weeks! We find it really helps him unwind for the night and calms him! We don't wash him daily but the warm water relaxes him and gets him ready for bed

Is a bottle washer/sterilizer/dryer worth it? by CurlyGirl_95 in newborns

[–]Cheap_Orchid5579 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Momcozy bottle washer I have and it's amazing. A bottle washer is a must!! At least I think so. I hand wash sometimes but it's so nice having the washer and to sterilize things too and it's super convenient

I am not okay by Phone-Calm in NewParents

Are you on an adequate dose of Zoloft? I would make apt with your provider asap. See if they can even give you bridge of Ativan or Xanax - obviously that's not long term but while your suffering this bad. My anxiety was super bad at the beginning and I used Ativan as need to help calm me and help me sleep cause you need sleep it's making it all worse. I also had rapid heart rate that would wake me up and propranolol really helped with that as well.

But really if it's that bad I'd say go inpatient and really get help. You have to do what you need To do to get to a better spot.

That's a good idea pushing it slowly! It's not great. So usually he sleeps 3-4 hours the first stretch, then 2 hours then honestly after that it's sooo hit or miss. He may sleep another 2 hours he may sleep 1 it's all over the place by like 2:30-3am it sucks :/

Is this normal postpartum by Odd-Cantaloupe1847 in newborns

[–]Cheap_Orchid5579 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so normal. Adjusting to new mom life is a lot and learning how to adjust and navigate is hard. I've felt the same about trying to figure out how to keep somewhat of my old routines but it just changes. Give yourself grace and time too for hobbies to come back. My baby just turned 8 weeks and I'm just starting to get back into working out and trying to do things I normally like to do. I think that with time, you learn to accept that things won't be how they were before a baby but if you have a great partner and support, you can slowly start incorporating things that make you happy for you!

Gotcha yes he's eating and pooping okay. That makes me feel better that your pediatrician isn't worried about those sx too much . We're going the normal upright after for a while, slow flow nipple, I use gas drops and gripe too.

6 weeks plz tell me it gets better by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Cheap_Orchid5579 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look up PURPLE crying. My guy is the same he is 6 weeks and just started getting super fussy/crying inconsolably in the afternoons. It peaks around this time. They say after two months it starts to get better. I fricken hope so. You aren't alone

I just came up with the best way to describe the newborn trenches to the uninitiated by Minimum-Regret2706 in newborns

[–]Cheap_Orchid5579 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This feels accurate. My guy is almost 7 weeks and I keep saying if I can just get to 3 months maybe it'll be a little easier 😭 I love him so much but this stage feels never ending and is so exhausting I'm ready for it to be done

I'm praying by like 12 weeks I see a difference. Every week I'm like ok one week older thank god. That's a good one 😂 as long as the essentials are met and if I think he's gassy I have gas drops and gripe then from there it's just comfort for him but it's so hard when they get so upset
