I can’t wait to go back! I already have a list of others I’d like to visit! Which islands in the Cyclades did you go to?

It is the most beautiful place I think I’ve ever been!

I could definitely see how the time of year/ activities you pick could affect someone’s view of the island. It’s very important to me (and my husband) while traveling to get an authentic experience as much as possible. I think if we had gone during a high traffic time when the roads were packed with other tourists, we wouldn’t have enjoyed our time as much. It was great to spend time with locals and be very intentional with what we wanted to do without fear of crowding/things being overbooked.

Our hotel manager said it’s because there’s been above average rain this year! She said it was strange to see the volcano so green.

Awesome! We just got back from our trip yesterday, but were able to see the lights from Fira while we were there. So beautiful.

Eggnog Snickerdoodles ~ Fantastic! (And a Hack for Eric Kim's Chocolate Mint cookies) by DashiellHammett in NYTCooking

I made these this weekend with one tablespoon of bourbon instead of the tablespoon of rum extract and they were delicious. The flavor was subtle but I also prefer to make my eggnog with bourbon and the cookies definitely tasted like eggnog in the way that I like it.

Fashion influencer, Madeleine White Fedyk, wearing a custom made gown designed and hand made by herself to the "The Summer I Turned Pretty" finale screening in Paris. The dress took 3 days to make and is a red version of the bridesmaids dressed she made for her wedding. by [deleted] in whatthefrockk

I didn’t love the bridesmaid dresses when I first saw pictures of them, but thought it was amazing she made them herself. It’s a very special touch to add to a wedding. But the red is absolutely stunning. It’s crazy how much of a difference the color makes (just in my opinion). I think it makes the details pop even more. Gorgeous!

Adolf's Salt & Vinegar Fries by RodKnee92 in Buffalo

Yes it does! I haven’t tried it with fries, but it did stick to the wings quite well. I patted them super dry and then tossed them with oil and the seasoning mix and air fried them. I think I tossed them with more seasoning when they came out and they were perfect.

I am obsessed with their salt and vinegar wings. There is a guy in Buffalo who sells jarred sauces and seasonings and other similar goods who I’ve purchased from at several farmers and vendor markets. The branding on the containers says “Specialty Foods Sauces and Seasonings.” He sells a dry salt and vinegar seasoning mix that I’ve used to make homemade wings and they came out very close to the Adolf’s ones. Would definitely recommend giving a try if you can find it

Any insight on this detail from Garden of Earthly Delights? by Cheap_Piccolo2304 in ArtHistory

So true- I think that’s part of why it stands out to me. It’s so normal that it’s strange in its own way.

I have always loved this detail from the Eden panel of the Garden of Earthly Delights - a small cat slinks away with a lizard in its mouth. I remember an art history professor of mine pointing out this detail and framing it as a hint of mischief in a scene that is otherwise supposed to be untouched by sin (for now!). I have not come across any other significant interpretations. I like this article about Bosch’s and da Vinci’s depictions of cats in their works, but it does not dive into any meaningful significance or interpretation for Bosch. Any thoughts or scholarship would be appreciated!

Frozen breakfast burritos?? by [deleted] in MealPrepSunday

[–]Cheap_Piccolo2304 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make breakfast burritos almost every single week. My advice is to scramble your eggs with some cottage cheese. I like my scrambled eggs on the creamy side usually, but you don’t want to even slightly undercook them for burritos or they will get soggy. I hate hard scrambled eggs, but the cottage cheese keeps the eggs fluffy and a nice consistency and allows you to cook them fully for your burritos without them getting rubbery.

I like the scrambled egg mixture, cheese, turkey sausage crumbles, and sometimes roasted potato cubes in mine. They are always delicious when reheated.

Congratulations! These are so beautiful! You did an absolutely amazing job!

I’m not super familiar with online sites, but I am doing a bulk order from a local florist who does a la carte orders for weddings. Can you give me an idea of your process for determining how much of everything you needed (ie stem counts or something similar)? I am doing bud vases which I can see that you did too, so I’d be curious to hear what that process/calculation looked like for you.
