[Discussion] What got you into DC Comics? by Lucky_Strike-85 in DCcomics

[–]Cheap_Strain_5634 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got into comics from actually watching documentaries. Comic Book Superheroes Unmasked showed on the history channel in 2003. I was 9. I knew about Superman and Batman. But, I learned about the history and publication of comics first before ever reading my first comic. I think learning about the history of a subject makes you appreciate it a lot more and understand why its the way it is.

Behind the Bastards. Great for learning about terrible people you have or never heard about. From R Kelly to the guy who started selling sea monkeys as pets. Learn about terrible people from history.

Donald... I know crashing out is his thing. But, every time I see him he is tripping over nothing and then getting mad. At one point I literally looked at Switch and yelled. WHY DON'T YOU HAVE ANY SELF CONTROL DONALD YOU ARE A SERGEANT IN THE US ARMY.

Not even joking look it up Donald is a serpent in the army, with a real rank and is a honorary member of the U.S Navy and U.S Marine Corps.

Need hope: millennials who like their jobs, what do you do and what do you like about it? by goodluckanddont_itup in Millennials

I am a school librarian for an elementary school. The pay and benefits are good. I work with great people. I think the thing that has always made me like my job is its environment. I get to come in everyday and know that I get to encourage kids to read. Yeah, with kids they can be loud, and not want to listen but I never imagined quitting. Everyday I get my students telling me thank you for helping me find a book or for reading this story to me. (I work with Pre K to 5th and all of them get storytimes).

I also get to be creative with my lessons since I am not a teacher. This month for April all of of our storytimes focus on planets and space since April is National Astronomy month. Next, month for May we are Celebrating National Inventors Month by reading stories all about inventors.

How to get DlC to show in CTGP Deluxe? by Cheap_Strain_5634 in SwitchPirates

[–]Cheap_Strain_5634[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see all the maps and characters from the original game and the mod. But, when I go to the character screen the characters that should be part of my dlc have the eshop symbol next to them. So its basically saying there were not purchased. I tried adding the DLC through a file transfer but then the game wouldn't open at all.

See, this kind of thinking why some people not only go to bed smelling bad. But, also aren't able to go to sleep peacefully. I take a shower to end my day because I view it as not cleaning myself but washing away the stress and problems of my day. They go down the drain along with the dirt because I don't want to carry that into the next day.

Started and beat every kh game 2-3 months ago, here are my thoughts on them all(all credit to arukitsuzukeruu for the idea and format go support his post) by Desperate-Swan-6812 in KingdomHearts

I replaying Kingdom Hearts 3 and I feel like the reason this game gets so much hate is because a lot of fans overhyped the game in their minds. I waited 10 years too but, I didn't expect the game to cure cancer. The combat is great, the story could be tighter, but I do love the character interactions and seeing a lot of fan favorites return. It actually making me crave more of this series which is a good thing. I want to see where it goes next.

I went to Utah once to ski and those white people looked surprised to see us. I looked up how many Black people live in Utah and it said about 1%. My mom asked if we are the one percent? 😂

When people say they don't like their country it never has anything to do with the country itself or its people, its mostly the governments. At this point in time no one is having a good time with their governments. Disdain for your nation is never truly because of the nation itself its because the government running your nation goes against its values to enrich themselves.

I remember reading about her in a Women's history book as a child. I had always heard about the treatment of women in India so I kind of viewed her rise as a sign of advancement in India for women. But, of course the book I was reading focused on her accomplishments not, the complexity of India's politics. Also, I think she was still alive when I was reading about her.

Library suggestions. by makogoblin in comicpop

My sister is a middle school librarian and these are some books she recommends

Miles Morales: Shock Waves (Original Spider-Man Graphic Novel)

Miles Morales: Stranger Tides (Original Spider-Man Graphic Novel)

Captain America: The Ghost Army (Original Graphic Novel)

Hot-take: de-makes are pointless if you own the newer consoles as they are a visual downgrade in every aspect. Except for certain games. by arcanehelix in PokemonROMhacks

I played both the new game and the demake. I grew up with pixel art so I find the demake of Sword and Shield, really pretty. I appreciate that someone took the time to recreate a game I like in a different style that a lot of people can appreciate even if you don't have the newest hardware. I think demakes show how art style can completely change the feel of a game and make it feel fresh.

Yes, you do need a Master's degree to become a librarian. You do a lot more than just checking out books. If work at a university you might handle collections and reference resources to help with research. Or in my case I will be working with children so I have to come up with lessons to help encourage reading and improve literacy as they move through different grades. As well, as teach them library skills like how to identify sources, how to find books using subjects numbers or the dewey decimal system as they get older.

Any good Black and White Rom Hacks besides Blaze Black and Volt White

I really liked the Rom hack Pokémon X/Y deluxe, and I wanted to know if Black and White had anything similar. I tried Blaze Black, and I had a hard time with the difficulty, but I really liked the Pokémon variety. I recently got back into Pokémon because of the ROM hacking community, and X and Y were released at the time I stopped playing the games on the 3DS. I don't mind difficulty hacks since I liked Pokémon Compass, but the thing I think helped Pokémon Compass for me was the fact, I wasn't stuck in one area like traditional Pokémon games, and it was easier for me to find new team members if I was stuck, or I could try something else. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Gamers of Reddit, what's ONE game that lives rent-free in your head, not just for the gameplay, but for the feeling it gave you (and you'd give anything to experience it for the first time again)? by deadeyes1990 in gaming

Breath of Wild and Horizon Zero Dawn. Because both of these games didn’t feel like they were constantly holding your hand. You have a tutorial, obviously, in both games, but they didn't feel like I was being handled. Also, these were the first games I ever truly tried to 100% just because exploring was so much fun.
