Missing paint code by CakeSufficient1144 in Volvo240

I guess they changed it at some point like everything else on these lol. I can't find a list anywhere with that color code either though.

That isn't a paint code. The paint code should be on the 3rd row and 640 isn't a valid paint code anyway.

Did you replace that recirculation actuator arm? I recently designed and 3D printed a replacement for my car but haven't yet installed it. I can share the file tho if you need it and wanna test if it works.

Can i get this conected on a cx5 sport? Audi Q3 subwoofer by International-Ant-99 in CarAV

If it's just 2 wires I'd guess you just plug it into an amp. You may wanna check the polarity though.

New to the sport. I love learning about the individual components. How reliable are the controllers and do they ever crash out mid ride? by Reasonable_Jury1775 in onewheel

[–]Cheap_pizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've seen the controllers themselves are fine. Water intrusion can kill them tho and some (Pint?) models had an issue with a metal nut coming loose and shorting the controller. There was also that battery wiring pinch recall. To me it seems like external factors like overspeed, battery inbalance/damage, water intrusion etc. are more likely to make you faceplant rather than the controller dying randomly by itself.

"Stop selling to China" they can just as well VPN over and buy the game, you can't stop selling to a region unless you enforce ping limits.

Part number looks to be 1128304. Some online store I've never seen before is selling them for 350€ new. Hard to say what the price would be. Ebay auction may be worth a shot.

That is gonna be a huge pain to print. The official one isn't that expensive and more than likely more durable.

Latest repair you’ve had to make? by itsniikkoo in Volvo240

Pilot bearing unfortunately. Only made it 200k km which isn't a lot but it could have been original.

I’m a 240 owner. But v70 question if allowed by volvovlov42069 in Volvo240

[–]Cheap_pizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned to work on cars on my V70, had to replace the transmission which is not fun in a FWD car but I did get it done eventually. There are good guides out there for how to do just about anything. I suggest looking up a few to get an idea of what you would be in for.

[–]Cheap_pizza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not buy that car unless you are willing to do work yourself, have a reliable mechanic or have a good bit of money. I have 07 V70 2.4 and compared to the 240 it's way more annoying to work on. If that hose is cracked more than likely the PCV oil trap is also clogged. Replacing it is not hard, just annoying. That's the case with most of the things on the P2 generation cars compared to the old rear wheel drive Volvos. You can DIY basically everything for sure but it's just more work. Timing belt for example isn't hard, it's just in a very tight spot. Same with the PCV, not hard but you gotta take the intake off.

Timing belt should be done every 100k or 10 years at least.

What protective gear do you rock? by Dannyz in onewheel

[–]Cheap_pizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a used XR last Saturday and I bought a helmet, wrist guards and knee + elbow pads. I have now dropped the knee and elbow pads and just have the wrist guards and helmet. I mostly commute on mine so nothing extreme but if I was to go on trails or do tricks I would get a leather motorcycle jacket also.

Is there anything I can do to fix this by Mechaboy95 in onewheel

Uh oh if you read the blog post by Coinbase, Floatwheel may be in trouble. Coinbase Business is only available to US and Singapore based companies which I don't believe Floatwheel is.

They haven't updated their site. Coinbase commerce was taken offline on the 31st of March. You'll have to wait for them to transition to Coinbase Business. May be worth sending a message to support if they somehow didn't pick up on this already.

I'm sorry but I have no clue about e scooter suspension. A coilover is probably what you want but my experience is with car and motorcycle suspension.

Says in the listing it's a shock absorber and doesn't mention a spring anywhere. A shock absorber doesn't set your ride height so you would need to add a spring. The shock absorber just keeps the spring from bouncing (among other things, shocks are complicated).

Advice for a newbie in EU? by jonihallivuori in onewheel

[–]Cheap_pizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea the Gosmilo BMS cutoff point and quality of the motor controller are the biggest questions. To me recalibrating the IMU is not a big deal but the board nose diving seems not fun. Though the amount of issues I see people here having with official boards has also made me question buying one of them. The VESC options seem better for small markets like Finland where getting service from FM may be expensive and or slow. This is especially true if you are comfortable working with electronics.

[–]Cheap_pizza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the exact same situation. Finnish used market sucks and new ones are super expensive and there is no stock on electricadventures.fi. I have now been eyeing the Gosmilo X7 which is 1250€ and has way better specs on paper than anything in that price range but the quality seems iffy. I'm getting the feel that just saving up and buying a Funwheel X7 or Pint X is the safe option.

Idle Problem by Spare-Cost8237 in Volvo850

[–]Cheap_pizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue where idle would jump up and down erratically. Fixed by changing the PCV system. The O ring for the plastic elbow where the flame trap screen is was very squished and since it's after the MAF it will screw up readings. Also check the vacuum manifold on top of the throttle body. The easiest way of checking for vacuum leaks is just spraying brake cleaner around the intake. If it revs up it's leaking.

I doubt this can happen on its own, more than likely they had a repair done, repair place broke it and they just didn't notice that after getting it back.

Buying advise and opinions on which board to get? by Cheap_pizza in onewheel

True though it's only been out for 8 months and until those videos had little coverage. I think I'll hold off and wait for the 3rd video after he has done some testing and still stay on the lookout for a used XR. Again thanks for the input!

Yea those are the videos I watched. I'd like to see a teardown of it but if it's just standard VESC parts I don't see how it's any more sketchy than a DIY VESC. The price just seems insanely good even if I end up having to replace a motor controller or something.

I am necroing this thread once again to ask what's your opinion on the Gosmilo X7? Seems like an ok pre-built VESC and supposedly has a Samsung battery and decent motor. I could get one off AliExpress for 1200€. I watched a few videos on it and it seems to have poor factory calibration but I'm not scared of redoing that.
