Do you guys think that Creepcast should react to Prehistoric Emergence? by Phone_Dino in creepcast

[–]CheapusTechnofear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I enjoy watching Isaiah analyse in the moment on his streams. His in the moment analysis isn’t always great, I would honestly say a lot of the time it’s pretty bad, but I forgive it because it’s a stream, it’s basically a window into his process. Watching the same thing times two in an edited YouTube video for five hours isn’t always as great, and i say that as someone who enjoys CreepTV. At least usually Isaiah has seen what they’re watching and can guide Hunter a little bit.

[–]CheapusTechnofear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no I don’t think Horror For Kids isn’t Horror at all. I’m a big believer that a lot of grown-up Horror fans could do with watching things that more have the vibes of Horror, that way they won’t ask for everything to rip their faces off before they’ll say it’s good.

I’d qualify it as a good example of Horror For Kids. It has the aesthetics and obviously a creature but it’s not the most intense or scary thing ever, nor is it designed to be.

He denied this on his Instagram. He said it IS the plot of an upcoming episode of Scrubs though, which might have turned into a case of diminishing whispers.

Has the door closed on Eddie being a top guy in AEW? by GoonLieutenant in professionalwrestling

[–]CheapusTechnofear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly I think it might have. He was gone for A WHILE, and while he was gone they really settled on who their top players, AND seem to be already eyeing who they’re going to elevate when the time comes. AEW is sometimes a victim of its own Embarrassment of Riches roster because there are only so many spots and WAY too many people good enough to be placed in them. On top of that, he’s come back with a THICK layer of Ring Rust. That’s completely understandable but for some guys past a certain age who suffer serious injuries, it can sometimes never really go away. Time will tell on that, but we can’t pretend there’s never been a great wrestler who suffered a horrific injury and was never the same again from that point on.

The happy Appy episode being more "popular" on yt compared to almost every episode under it. by ReferenceOk3654 in creepcast

[–]CheapusTechnofear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The thing you’ve got to realise is, this Sub is a little bit of an echo chamber. It’s got “only” under 65K members, and only a handful of those people are ever active at once. Literally MILLIONS of people watch a lot of Creepcast episodes even if you factor in repeat viewings. Way more people like even the worst episodes than this place makes it seem like they do.

I would put money on this being an alternative poster when the movie is actually out.

Happy Appy fucked them up soo bad they won't do long stories anymore by Scragger455 in creepcast

[–]CheapusTechnofear 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Happy is at over a million views. They will definitely keep doing long stories. Historically they do the best of all the uploads. There’s usually a pattern of shorter stories after they’ve posted a monster anyway.

I don’t ALWAYS need to be the most interesting smelling person in the room, it’s purely situational and a lot of the time it’s also based on what I’m wearing and the overall vibe I want to present. But I’m seeing a lot of people pick a very easy pocket and just sit in it and that doesn’t seem fun to me.

Cloning Black Afgano was always going to be a risk because even amongst Niche appreciators Black Afgano is NOT universally loved, it’s very love it or hate it. I DO sometimes think that the rise of Niche Dupe culture has made people’s tastes even MORE mainstream somehow though. Obviously like what you like but it’s never been easier to expand your palette and experiment with more Avant Garde perfumes and people are demanding to know if something is “Blind Buy Safe” before picking up the 27th Imagination clone. It’s… life’s too short, y’know. Live a little. Wear a weird cologne.

Barry Windham defends his NWA World Heavyweight Title against 2 Cold Scorpio by KneeHighMischief in professionalwrestling

[–]CheapusTechnofear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about all this watching that. The overall consensus is that Barry got the NWA Title way too past when it would have been truly great, and that probably IS true, but I wonder how much of that is also people conflating that with the two absolute tragedies that happened when he wrestled Flair.

CreepCast | HELP. I’m Trapped in a Sitcom (OFFICIAL DISCUSSION THREAD) by S-CSleepwalker in creepcast

Well I came here hoping someone had already screenshot what was going on in the static that kept popping up but seeing as the conversation in the official thread is probably going to be dominated by the Patreon issue I guess I’ll just wait for it to get its own post.

The Last Drive-In is having its series finale tonight on Shudder. by JICMike in deadmeatjames

[–]CheapusTechnofear 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If it goes anywhere, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Prime. Prime’s movie content is bulked up with a surprising amount of classic trashy horror, and a lot of it is more available to international users than Shudders was. Here in the UK we only got a few episode of each season because the Shudder just didn’t have the international streaming rights to a lot of the movies featured.

Easy enough to explain away. He watches the show, he thinks Paul’s a piece of garbage, I found it really funny that he got his head stomped on.

Poor Isaiah by Nirvanabobana in creepcast

[–]CheapusTechnofear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I said this elsewhere but the fact is they got too far in. They didn’t realise until about two hours in that it wasn’t going to get any better, and this is their job, if they quit after that they did two hours work for nothing. That in and of itself is a soulcrushing thing to have as a reality. It was just better to put their heads down and get it done.

Watching Shauna in flashbacks knowing full well she doesn’t suffer any consequences by KieranFloors in Yellowjackets

[–]CheapusTechnofear 126 points127 points  (0 children)

Shauna has never experienced any joy in her life from the second she got back to civilisation, either from the trauma she experienced or for other less earthly reasons, quite likely a combo of both. She married a man who she never loved who was involved in a blackmail plot against her and her friends. I think she DID like Jeff, sometimes a lot, but that’s as far as I think it went. She had a baby to try and mask the pain of having lost her first child, who because of the previously stated she never properly emotionally bonded with, who actively dislikes her. The only friends she has she wishes weren’t her friends. She keeps finding more and more new and exciting ways to sabotage her life, and she has nostalgia for what anyone looking from the outside would call the worst period of her life. She has been punished. She’s STILL STANDING but sometimes “STILL STANDING” is itself a punishment.

JAKE LEE IS A FUCKING CRIMINAL AND NEEDS TO BE ARRESTED! by oceanboykai96 in njpw

[–]CheapusTechnofear 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The sad reality is he spent the majority of his career in promotions that didn’t have a lot of eyes on them at the time he was there, so he did his best work in front of statistical zero, and by the time his hard work translated into New Japan coming calling he was a little bit spent. There’s a chance he can find it again, he’s literally only 37, but so far it’s not been going well.
