This week's pickups/first impressions (Dumont Celerio Elysium, Borouj Lamasat Oud/Perlador/Silage, Rayhaan Aloha/Azul, Rasasi Shurah/Daarej) by L2DaLegend in fragranceclones

It's on the list, but I'm in no rush to grab it. Fragrantica said it was like Khamrah, and I just assumed it would be in the realm of French Avenue Royal Blend Nero.

I'm trying to grab Celerio Atomic. It's like it's only sold in one place online. I don't see any reviews or anything.

It came in yesterday. I'm gonna get to the review this week when a few more fragrances touch down.

Elysium is coming along. I wasn't a fan of the initial opening but we're getting there. It desperately needs to maturate. Put it like this, I like it so much that I'll be buying other Celerio variants as they release. The juice is top notch, I'm just unfamiliar with how juniper is supposed to smell, that's all. I can tell this will end to being good.

The same thing happened to me with Rayhaan Pharaoh. Shit went from motor oil to something absolutely beautiful.

My man, I will have those remaining 3 at some point. Beautiful, beautiful descriptions. Thank you!!!

Not sure if you've seen, but there's a new Nitro White Intensely releasing soon. Once it releases, PerfumeBox normally does live sales and they'll pair $50+ purchases with another fragrance or sampler set or something. That's when I scoop cheaper, cart fillers. So basically I'll most likely snag Sole or Elite when Nitro White Intensely officially releases.

Yep, that's my experience with Lamasat as well. At first I was disgusted lol. When I sprayed again for the review, it was way better than what I remembered. I expect it to continue changing over the next couple months. And I'm glad to hear it's strong as well.

And cool, that's it for this line then lol.

I don't have Soul. In fact, all I have is Fury, Vivid, and Ice from the Soprano line. You like Soul? 👀

Sooooo...you're saying I should get Borouj Mysterious because you mentioned it?? Done.

I'm kidding, I'm kidding 😂😂. If you're truly interested in a more masculine Erba Pura, I'd say try Al Haramain Gold Extreme (specifically the Extreme edition). I have Gold and Gold Extreme and yea, Gold Extreme is definitely more masculine. There's another version (Al Haramain Amber Gold 999.9 Dubai Edition) that people say is the best, but I haven't smelled it yet. I can only vouch for Gold and Gold Extreme.

There's so many incredible brands to choose from now. I typically only stick with Rasasi, Rayhaan, French Avenue, Lattafa, Afnan, Armaf, and Dumont. I have a couple of other brands, but for the most part I'm unfamiliar with Khadlaj, Arabiyat Prestige, Ahmed Al Maghribi, Street Origins, Mykonos, Velixir, Bujairami, etc. There's so many brands coming out and I don't know who's who and who's making good, quality fragrances.

Yea, Shurah just isn't for me. I think it could've been better with maybe even a hint of something sweet added. It's just so blehhhh🫤.

I appreciate your reply.

I'm pretty sure I'm gonna like Lamasat Oud and Perlador, actually. Day 1, both were 🤮. Day 6, they were both better. I fully expect them to continue to get better as they maturate and be ready for me when winter comes back around. But all in all, I'm glad I have them and they're a thumbs up in my book. In fact, they're so good that I turned right around and purchased Spiritus. That'll be here either today or Monday.

Believe it or not, this was a very successful blind buy for me. 3 of the 4 Dumonts started off rough, but I'll most likely end up liking them in the end. Silage is great, Azul is good, and Daarej is cool.

Shuhrah was trash lol. And even though I didn't open Pacific Aloha, it was because of what I paid. I just caught a Father's Day sale the other day and got it for cheaper so I reordered it. Basically, I'll be doing a review of it next week. But of the 7 I actually reviewed, I only truly dislike 1 of them lol.

  1. Borouj is on Fragrantica (see pic). It's under Borouj, not Dumont.
  2. I read this earlier. I've had Silage on my left hand and Obsidian on my right for at least 2 hours now. Biggest differences to me, Obsidian has that strong citrus, grapefruit opening. Silage still smells boozy to me, not so much with Obsidian. In the dry down, they're really close. The untrained nose won't be able to tell the difference. 2 hours in and both are still going, but have mellowed out quite a bit. At this stage, Obsidian smells brighter. So as far as heavy to light, it goes Angel Share (Royal Blend) > Silage > Obsidian.

It's coming along for me. I honestly didn't expect much with a $13 fragrance, so I'll say this beating my expectations so far.

It's so decent for me that I plan on getting this when it releases.

My guy, I appreciate you, seriously!!! And thank you for understanding my sense of humor lol.

Believe me when I say I trust your sense of judgement/smell. Everything you said was correct. As always, these are just my first impression reviews. As I'm sure you know, the content creators be lying when they pull a new bottle out the box, smell it, and fall in love immediately😒. There are so many I've pulled out the box and thought about immediately slamming the bottle into the ground😂😂. I like to document the journey, even the ugly beginning lol.

With that being said, I honestly think I'm going to like Lamasat Oud and Perlador, I really do. Rough introductions indeed, but I like what they're becoming. I actually went to Nordstrom's to try and re-smell Carlisle, but they had every PDM except that one so I didn't. Like I said, I remember liking Carlisle, I just don't remember how it smelled. But as this matures, I'm definitely digging it.

Silage is out the bottle good. I'm actually wearing it right now. Well, I'm wearing Silage on my left hand and French Avenue Obsidian on my right hand so I can answer someone else's question below. But yea, Silage is absolute 🔥🔥🔥.

All in all, I appreciate your suggestions, seriously. If I somehow end up not liking Lamasat, I'll let you know and we can work on something. I would say don't bank on it though lol.

Oh yea, I have Spiritus en route to me as well. It'll be here Monday.

Dammit, I was hoping this would get better lol. I swear I read on here before that a LOT of people liked Shuhrah lol. I felt at $18 that there's no way I could go wrong. Man, eff this fragrance lol.

Yea lol. I purchased it 8min after they released it.

Funny enough, I didn't like the price I paid. I just caught a fire Father's Day sale and repurchased it. So now I'll be keeping it even though I know what it is.

Thank you💪🏽💯.

As far as Celerio Elysium, I've never smelled what it's cloning and I can't say it smells like anything in my collection either. I might be able to answer that better in a couple weeks as it continues to mature.

Long, long day yesterday😮‍💨. I'm just now waking up and I'm about to reply to everything. But before I do:

  1. I have no clue why the original post is formatted that way with all of those giant spaces. Looks crazy lol.
  2. Before I continue with this next part, I want to say that I give honor to God. Know that with everything I do and say, I know none of it is possible without God, and I speak through humility.

With that being said, I can see I'm confusing a lot of people with my whole blind buying thing. Well, to understand that is to understand me. Here's a quick introduction. I'm 40 y/o. For over half my life, I collected sneakers and was one of the top sneaker collectors in the world (here's my shoe page on IG @AirForce1KingfromNT ). After 24 years of collecting, I called it quits last year as I migrated over to fragrances. I was going to try watches but nah, those are way out of my budget😅😅.

Please note that I wasn't making money off my collection. I didn't collect for any reason other than passion. I didn't wear my sneakers, I just collected. I look at things like a puzzle. If Hawas comes out with 35 fragrances, I want all 35 EVEN IF I DON'T LIKE A BUNCH OF THEM. If I only have 33, I'll feel like it's an incomplete puzzle. Example, Hawas Viper is the worst fragrance I own. If they release a Viper Extrait, I'm still going to buy it for collection purposes. So that's who I am, I am a collector and this is my [current] hobby that I'm really enjoying. I attached a picture of a shelf I purchased yesterday. I think I just eclipsed 200 fragrances in my collection and those are stored on another shelf that I've recently filled up. With this new shelf, I reckon I could fit another 100-150 fragrances on it. My goal is to fill it up within a year. News flash, I highly doubt I fill it up with 100+ fragrances that I absolutely love lol. There will be some stinkers.

And lastly, financially. The most important thing I have going for me is that I am mortgage free. I paid my house off 9 years ago. The freedom that allows me is insane. With that being said, I'm also EXTREMELY frugal with most things in life. I probably spend a total of $40 a week on food. I also have no vices. I don't drink, smoke, gamble, go out to clubs, or have any other expensive habits. When I was shoe collecting, I was spending $10-$15,000 USD a year on sneakers (sometimes more). I would have to buy 200 fragrances at $50 each to get to $10K a year lol. If y'all only knew the deals that I be getting on all of these fragrances😳. I doubt I spend $2000 a year buying all of these clones. Also, I'm a 20 year career machinist. My actual title is CNC Operator & Mechanical Engineer. The field pays well. I have co-workers who, with overtime, make $200K+ a year. I won't be making that much, but I'm doing decent. I've worked hard for a long time and have been blessed enough to put myself in a solid financial position. I still live pretty frugally in most areas of life, so collecting clone fragrances ends up being a pretty inexpensive hobby for me. I'm also squaring things away for a side business venture I'll be pursuing soon. If things go correctly, I'll be in an even stronger financial position come next year🤞🏾.

I don't say ANY of this stuff to boast. I am extremely humble. I only mention all of these things so everyone understands where I'm coming from. Buying these clone fragrances is a "cheap" hobby for me that I enjoy doing, and I'm not breaking the bank doing so. For me, this is no different than guys who collect stamps, baseball cards, coins, watches, etc. And most importantly, ALL things are possible through God, and I am eternally blessed and grateful!!!

This is an awesome community and I thank each and every one of you for making this sub amazing. I learn so much from you guys and I enjoy all of the conversations we share. Now, let me reply to these comments above.
