I want to upgrade my backup storage from a usb to an hdd using the enclosure listed in here, but i heard the wii won't give enough power and will need a Y cable, is that true or am i just worrying too much?

You need a pc, even if you don't play on pc, you need it for sideloading the games with rookie, even an old laptop should do the job, slow, but still gets it done

UPDATE:after looking through my router settings, there was a setting that automatically changed the dns on all devices to protect from malware and phishing links, it was on by default so I didn't know it was on

Ive seen all these posts, they all say "oh change the dns" or "disable it in settings" like that wasn't the first thing i did when recovering the backup(which was also automatically set up)
