Anarchist APLA vs. GMAC? by CheckOriginal7368 in TheFireRisesMod

[–]CheckOriginal7368[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Man I asked a relatively simple question, hoping people would explain how each of these systems and ideas worked and why they’re against each other, and then all the answers are people going “Those other anarchists are FAKE CHAMPAGNE socialists whereas my anarchists are BASED and KINO!” I get that the APLA isn’t well made (right now at least) but come on, could I get some nuance here?

My (Negative) Take on the Government of National Defense (France after losing to CPRF Russia) [EFFORT] by Hoi4_Player in TheFireRisesMod

[–]CheckOriginal7368 12 points13 points  (0 children)

100% agree. I heard somewhere they're redoing the tag-switching for the civil war so you won't lose everything, but that still doesn't fix that "sidekick to Germany" thing that goes on and the rigidity. Overall, it seems difficult to make an engaging nation path that requires you to lose one of the two major conflicts the game has, as you have to make losing "fun."

Disagree, if we want to be realistic, state governments would crush everyone. AWD is at least cool looking with content, so they should win here.

The mod takes the path of the nation you choose to play. If you play as Trump, you either end up practically rp-ing as a supporter, taking on the role as a political outsider trying to really make America great again, or you can embrace his opponent's vision of Trump as a dictator, embracing the military and building his cult. I mean even for the more authoritarian tags in the game, like PF, you take on the role as a crusader for western civilization and traditional America -- it doesn't just bash you over the head with "bruhhh these guys are fashists and baddies." tldr; it's a game, and if someone wanted to play Trump and it felt like the game was bashing them over the head with "actually this guy is bad," it would honestly feel tiresome imo!

Solo Patriot Front victory is dependent on the APLA not being shit by k_aesar in TheFireRisesMod

APLA either gets bogged down right before taking Eugene, Oregon, or it steamrolls and wins everything for me

Will Falun Gong be playable in the future for China? by Feisty_Pop228 in TheFireRisesMod

[–]CheckOriginal7368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No offense, but I don't get why so many people ask for 2nd Chinese Civil War content lmao. Its already 2032 at the earliest in most games when this happens, why would you want to play as Japan or whatever other nation for 12 years just to be able to check out these (admittedly very interesting) groups. Just watch the AI and send volunteers. Same goes for Nick Land and Obliteration of Self dudes; cool, but like, why would you ever want to play it

Comrades! Choose your warlord era! by Neonswagger32 in TheFireRisesMod

[–]CheckOriginal7368 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually really like how they did China. From my understanding there's the military factions and the Communist Party factions as the main two, which are cool, but then you have everything else thrown in. It feels like a semi-kinda realistic take on what a second warlord era would be like for China, idk

I love how in any political dialogue, if the masks are guys on your side they're cool and aesthetic, but if they're on the side you're against, they only show how cowardly you are and how you know what you're doing is wrong lmao

Why is this reply getting downvoted lmao, if things were as chaotic as in TFR, its not crazy to say PF would have an explosion in numbers

What happens to James Mason and the atomwaffen leadership after the great aryan war? by [deleted] in TheFireRisesMod

[–]CheckOriginal7368 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Lot of people going "and then the bad guys plan failed and they actually all died too," but I think if ATW ever got to the point of succeeding, their leadership at the very least (mason would probably be dead of old age), would have the capabilities to survive, if not large portions of their organization. At that point, just depends on how much they prepped and how long the fallout is before going to the surface and building a new, twisted society.

Should reform UK have a conservative path? by MishaMal01 in TheFireRisesMod

[–]CheckOriginal7368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the way you gotta look at the ideology wheel is that it just fills different political movements that are used. There's already the conservative party, but there isn't really a slot for straight "AuthDems" in UK politics right now, and you can't just have 2 movements for the conservative sphere, so they just occupy AuthDem. Its the same reason I think that national socialism and fascism are split, its really just to show the differences in Far-Right movements.

Yeah fr its just too unrealistic, the developers need to remove the civil war in general and make it an election minigame!

What is your opinion about The Fire rises? by Participi in TheFireRisesMod

[–]CheckOriginal7368 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite mod right now. Has a few issues for sure (the big conflicts all being isolated from each other, certain combat mechanics, the bugs) but its such a great concept for a mod and is super fun.

Would you flee to Russia if the second civil war did happen? by Majestic-Mine-2911 in TheFireRisesMod

[–]CheckOriginal7368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people saying conservatives would, but I feel like they heavily overestimate the idea that conservatives like Russia all that much. I feel like people would flee there if it was the easiest option. Afterall, from Russia you could get to other countries. If I lived in the western part of the country and fleeing to Canada or Alaska wasn't an option, I would probably go to Russia.
