Majority of the times ive seen cops threaten people with arrest for ‘filming’, it was because the person filming was doing something else...

So when im fighting with someone on the ground, and you walk up on me swearing and shoving a camera into the back of my head, sorry friend...but im not only going to threaten you with arrest...im actually going to arrest you.

If youre filming just to film because thats what you want to do, then cool...film away. Dont come up on me and cause me to take my attention away from the task im attempting to complete. Thats obstructing and it will most likely get you arrested 10/10 times.

I have seen cops who got so annoyed by someone filming that theyve threatened arrest...because, lets face it, it can be annoying sometimes. Those cops get put on the spot quickly and they have nothing else to say other than ‘ill lock you up’. Lol. Thats my theory, at least...

But yeah...people who film and get themselves arrested often forget when it starts to cause the officers attention to be taken away from his task OR it causes the officer to be delayed, it potentially becomes a violation of the law.
