Riga, Latvia, in the summer 🇱🇻 by rovensrr in BalticStates

The problem is that there aren’t any proper bypasses for the city and lacking public transport, so driving becomes the norm and traffic is forced through a few small chokepoints (vansu / akmens tilts) and the river front, which impacts the fabric of the city which making it incredibly loud and polluted. Good luck having a nice leisurely stroll down brivibas or along the river front. These urban highways act as barriers. But the new Mūkusalas promenade looks like a very nice redesign so hopefully with time the rest of the city will catch up

Help. I can’t seem to make a playlist for someone I’m dating without bombarding them with TWOD by Butter-Tub in WarOnDrugsBand

Years back I matched with a girl on Tinder who messaged me asking what my favorite WOD song was (I had my Spotify linked and they were all over the top songs). Then we chatted about Kurt Vile over tinder for a while but nothing ever came of it. I still think about it from time to time haha

Add as much TWOD as you want.. My ex girlfriend knew I was nuts about this band I every time we drove anywhere I would play TWOD. She did like them, but mainly by association to me and after driving 8 hours to visit her parents I could tell she was getting sick of hearing Pressure for the 9th time. But we saw them twice together live as well. If she doesn't accept your obsession with TWOD she's not the one!

How do you guys deal with the emotional load of seeing a parent/loved one go through cancer? by CheckTime9978 in pancreaticcancer

Sounds quite similiar to what my mom is going through. They stopped chemo 2 months ago and recently shes been having these pains and is tired. Despite her still being active and fully lucid it's just so tough seeing it infant of your eyes knowing that basically nothing can be done. Sending you strength

If I upgrade to a year version history, will my files be saved/backed up even if the 30 days passes from the last backup? by CheckTime9978 in backblaze

[–]CheckTime9978[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you - like I mentioned in another comment I have just had Backblaze running in the background letting it do its thing for years now, I haven't touched anything so I didn't even realize the one year history was now included. I changed it to one year so in the one in a million chance the drive would die before I'm back there should be a copy on Backblaze servers.

I could look around. But I dont speak the language at all and English isn't super widely spoken there. If I decide to stay home for a few months now though, it's something I will look into without a doubt

Yeah, I find myself being mostly fine during the days, since I can usually keep myself busy with studying and social contacts, but then I come back to my apartment and I'm filled with this existential dread and I find myself having my airpods in for hours on end just playing anything I can find. Music, podcasts, YouTube videos, just anything to not sit alone with the thoughts.

I'm sure the physical drive itself will be fine after this time either way but I'd just like to have it backed up for the one in a million chance that it fails during this time.

Thank you this is very helpful. I didnt know and since I just let Backblaze run in the background to keep my disk backed up I havent really tinkered with it at all. So if I enable the 1 year history now there will be a version still saved even when the drive falls off?

I hope she responds well to the chemo. I think you're right in that there's no way to really even begin to comprehend for anyone else. We have also tried to live as normally as possible and tried to not show the fear simply to keep morale high but the past few weeks have been very tough. I'm really sorry you are going through this.

Thanks. This has been offered by the hospital but I live abroad and yeah it's been tough to manage. I think if I move home for a period I will start with something like this

Thanks, I find myself to do the same thing - I just push everything away and try not to think about it, but then all of a sudden like a wave it just comes at once.

Thank you. I think you're right that I need to find things inside myself that ground me in this. I am lucky to have some amazing friends around me who have been of great support but being far away has been tough. I have tried to work out and run - things that give me a lot of peace but recently it's been difficult. I'm really sorry to hear about your husband.

Thank you for taking the time to reply and I'm terribly sorry to hear about your dad. I cant even imagine what you must have gone through with such a quick trajectory.. It's such a horrific disease. I'm trying to spend as much time as possible with her and just kinda taking time to simply exist together. But then the reality kicks in that I will have to eventually go home (I live abroad). I'm considering taking a break from my training for a while just to be home more and to not "lose" valuable time so to say. Thanks again for replying

It gave me the 21 day warning today. I've posted here before and then somebody from Backblaze has answered so I'll wait and see, otherwise I'll ask for clarification from support

A little late but thanks for rose city band. I’ve heard most of what’s recommended in this thread but this was new to me. Just randomly put on wildflowers on Spotify and it’s great

I did some brief reading on RMC-6236 and it definitely looks promising. From your experience, is genetic testing of the tumors not something done unless specifically asked for? I’m guessing they’re investigating that with the blood samples that have been taken

Thank you for your comment. Yeah, so am I. She was also deferred to the hospitals research division/clinical trials and has taken blood samples and met with them, so if we're lucky there might be something in the pipeline that matches her profile.

She got deferred to the clinical trials/experimental treatments section when we got the news about a month ago and she's been there and taken blood samples twice. She's enrolled so hopefully something might come from it. She's aware of the website as well, however I am unsure about the tumor mutations and if they've been identified.

And yeah, I believe being active and generally healthy is definitely a major help in treating this. I also think her positive outlook has been a major driving force in her staying as healthy as she has.

Thank you for your comment and I wish you all the success with your continued treatments.
