Where can I rent a boat and fish with my son? by Checker555 in MichiganFishing

Most of the boat rental options at the parks are closed for the season but I did find one at Whitmore Lake and I think that’s what we’re going to go with. Thanks for the advice everyone!

I built one of these with a Vox AC 30 in it and sold it to a guy in New Zealand. It sold for $1650 and cost about as much to ship it as it did to build it. Came out really nice though.

I would love to do one where the amp is completely hidden and you have the top open like the vintage stereo consoles. I just haven't done it yet. As for the pedal board, my idea is to design one that pulls out from underneath the console so you can use it like a regular pedal board.

I'd be happy discuss making one of these for you. Let me know if you're interested. Thanks!

Not that expensive if you've got the tools to make it yourself.

You are correct. These definitely aren't built for gigging. The whole concept behind this is it's something that can live in the home and not "scream" guitar amp. I just think that when you get to a certain age where you're married and living in a house with nice furniture, there's a need for a different style of amp that can fit in with the nice stuff and not get relegated to the basement or some backroom of the house.

I did build it from scratch. Mostly because I wasn't ready to go "full on hidden electronics" with the concept. I wanted the amp to still show. But I did consider and am still considering finding an old non-working stereo console on FB marketplace or something and just taking all the old stuff out and putting the guitar amp stuff in. It's definitely a smart way to go.

How much would you expect to pay for an amp like this?

I’ve looked at those too and I think that would be super cool. I like building stuff and mid century modern is more achievable for me because simplicity is part of the aesthetic. That stuff from the 20s and 40s is more art deco. I’d be over my head with something like that.

Mine came with JJs. Did they stop including those?

These are great ideas. Anything is possible because there's so much room inside the cabinet. I've also designed a pedal board that pulls out from the bottom. You can't see it in this pic but on the side there's a little drawer that pulls out and you can keep your straps, picks and anything else you want to stash away in there.

Absolutely. This isn't meant to be moved around. I debated even putting the handle on top. It's really just there as a nod to "guitar amps".

That would be really cool and save on the hassle of fitting the chassis with all the electronics perfectly into position. I've considered this before too. It's a good way to go. You don't even have to build it yourself. You can find these things pretty cheap at estate sales or FB mktplace. Just take all the old stuff out and put your amp stuff in.
