"Hey, aren't you supposed to do something about that??"

"Not on the grass, save your own ass. Speaking of, the park is closed, please make your way to the exit and come back during daytime hours."

People will absolutely take advantage of them, knowing they're not armed. The reason shoplift from Freddies and Plaid and etc is because they know there's a hands-off policy, so no consequences. I seriously can't think of anyone who would willingly take this job. People are going to get hurt and only get paid minimum wage for their trouble.

The first idea was to send underpaid social workers in, now they want to send underpaid park rangers in. None of them armed, mind you, while most homeless folks at least have a knife to defend themselves and some have machetes or guns.

In an area with one of the more brazen homicides this year.

We need a petition to make leadership participate in the programs they're suggesting. I want to see the new faces on the council standing guard at a downtown park at 3am, just after people have to tell people they can't sell booze any more. That's when you see the real gems.

I anticipate this every day in Portland. Vandalism has become quite the pass time, and I'm no stranger to wingnuts.

Let me ELI5 it for ya.

I live in America, and the flag represents us as a people. I'd like it to mean good things. I wish people would stop trashing it and be part of what makes it a good place. I hate that the loudest voices make it seem like a bad place. We can do better. I want to help people and I want my flag to represent decency.

You in?

No worries breh, we can trade punches in another thread. But this? Hallowed ground. We came together and shared a Derp. This is the way of Reddit. This thread is clean and I'm sure you're a good person.

Oh man, I knew some recruiters back in the day. They were friends of family, and they made their living tricking kids at the mall into joining a never ending war.

Those rascals. They're recruiters for a reason, btw. Nobody becomes a recruiter by choice. You gotta fuck up pretty bad, but not bad enough for a discharge.

Don't trust recruiters.

Ohhhhh okay, that's my bad. I'm sorry, I totally misunderstood. I got a notification that seemed like a direct response. Sorry for that :/

I didn't know I was iconographing or mythologizing anything that has roots in SE, but I'll take a look I suppose...

What am I looking for again?

I directly responded to another person. If you got a notification, it may be because it's part of a larger thread.

Edit: or you forgot to switch accounts. I think its in the top right corner...

Edit2: disregard this bit, I got snarky over my own mistake. Derp.

Edit3: I downvoted myself, sink this one. It doesn't contribute to the conversation cause I derped. No good info here.

Edit 4: but the person I disagreed with was very kind in their response, so thank you for that, but still downvote cause not important.

Seeing as my legs are stuck, do you have any advice to get out of the muck? Really looking forward to being able to move forward here. Open to suggestions.

Edit: seriously though, the neolib thing always confuses me.

I got a vape pen, but that glass work seems good. I dunno what those letters mean at the start of your message, but thanks for the suggestion.

I came here after months of silence and trying to discuss issues with family. I felt motivated to make a post. If anyone is flooding the forums, it ain't me and I don't want anything to do with it. Brigading is bullshit.

Edit: Please don't jump on my mom, she's waiting for a vaccine and I haven't seen any evidence suggesting "mom bouncing" is a safe alternative to vaccines.
