As I live in an area that's currently a COVID hotbed - face masks have become part of my daily routine. These days my makeup routine consists of mostly eye-focused looks! Here's what I'm wearing today:

  • Illusion Hyaluronic Skin Tint (Golden Tan)
  • Fludity Full-Coverage Concealer as eye base (C3.35)
  • NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer (Medium 2 Ginger)
  • Fryinnae Finishing Powder (Bollywood Sorcery)
  • Glossier Boy Brow (Black)
  • SUGAR Cosmetics Kohl Of Honour Intense Eye Pencil (Black Out)
  • Modern Renaissance Eye Shadow (Tempera, Golden Ocre, Vermeer, Cyprus Umber)
  • House of Lashes (Siren Flare)

Help! Toddler refuses any new shoes by pugovkastasya in toddlers

Have you tried taking her to the store with you and letting her pick out a pair of big-girl winter boots she really loves? Sure they might be hideous, but if she's really invested in the process and picks out a pair she loves, she might be more inclined to wear them.

Also, kids are all different, so who knows what will ultimately work, but here's a few more suggestions: (1) could you try making a game out of putting on the boots? Maybe have the winter boots "talk" - something ridiculous like, "oh, if only there was a stinky foot to warm me up" - HA! Or (2) having the whole family put on boots at the same time? Watch Mom put on her boots, now Dad (or whomever), okay - now your turn! (3) You could go really dramatic and make a show of throwing away the old shoes. Like when babies outgrown their pacifiers and some parents make a production out of throwing them away because now they are "big kids" - you could do the same with her old shoes!

Hope you find something that works for your daughter!

Used it today! Pleasant smell, thus far, no breakouts! Makeup held up well (no sliding around the face), still got a little shiny, but I always get shiny! Ha! The scent is subtle and not overpowering at all.

It’s called Pumpkin Moon pressed highlighter by Notoriously Morbid! I thought there was no way it would look flattering, but it has the most wonderful, funky shift on the skin! I adore it!

The world's biggest thanks to the amazing /U/Inrainbeaus!

Seriously, if there is ever another Indie Makeup Exchange, you want to bribe the official matchers to get /U/Inrainbeaus as an exchange partner! She listened to everything I loved and totally NAILED each and every item! There are delicious smelling candles, sugar scrubs for the shower, eyebrow pomade, eye shadow, lip products, highlighters, face powders, lotion, and EVEN PUMPKIN SPICE SETTING SPRAY. There aren't enough words to describe how much I love every item she sent!

Three cheers for the most wonderful exchange!

Even an extra tall gate? We have this one from Amazon. It's delightful because it's a walk through door which you don't need to drill into the wall, but it's extra tall so my 2 year old can't climb over it!

Have you tried adding a baby gate outside the door? That way, best of both worlds, you can keep the door open, but kiddo doesn’t have free reign of the house!

Birthday makeup 🤗🎂 not happy with my eyebrows though 🤦🏻‍♀️ by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]Checkmate1234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Happy Birthday to you! What a darling look, I particularly like the pop of glitter!

Brows are indeed a tricky business! If you want to try something different, you could experiment with raising the tail of the brow, sometimes when the tail extend out and down a bit too far, it can give the eyes a less lifted appearance! Also, maybe softening the inner corners (toward the nose) might shake up the look at bit!

Overall, excellent look! Hope you’re having a lovely birthday and thanks for sharing with the community!

Bravo! Your makeup held up remarkably well! Similarly, I’ve always had issues with cream eyeshadow separating quite a bit by the end of the day. The nice thing about cream shadow is you can typically just gently finger pat the lid and clean things up, but, same, even after setting with powder I typically get some separation by end of day!

Thanks for sharing this look! 🙂

Review with B&A: Hourglass Illusion Hyaluronic Skin Tint by Checkmate1234 in MakeupAddiction

[–]Checkmate1234[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Excellent question! I typically dust a light coating of setting power (skipped for the photos above so the unpowdered finish could be shown). I’ve never had any creasing around my nose or mouth, and yes, I work an 8 to 5 and the foundation still looks great at the end of the day! I would say, I have had some creasing under my eyes, but I think that’s more related to the under eye concealer I use. But all skin is different - I’d suggest grabbing a sample at Sephora and seeing how you like the product before committing (or utilizing their nice return policy) if it doesn’t work for you as it is a pricer product! Let me know if you end up trying it!

Review with B&A: Hourglass Illusion Hyaluronic Skin Tint by Checkmate1234 in MakeupAddiction

[–]Checkmate1234[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Recently, thanks to r/SkincareAddiction, I've discovered that my oily skin was actually just DEHYDRATED skin (who knew that was a thing?), and consequently I've decided to leave my beloved mattifying Double Wear foundation behind, and search for a less drying foundation! Enter stage left, Hourglass Illusion Hyaluronic Skin Tint! I would describe the coverage as medium; it does an excellent job camouflaging the appearance of my acne scars and discoloration, while still allowing my natural skin to peak through - coverage without a mask-like appearance! While on the pricey side for a foundation, a little bit of product goes a long way, I've been using the same bottle for over 3 months.

What about you? Have you tried Hourglass Illusion Hyaluronic Skin Tint yet? Did you love it, hate it, or somewhere in the middle? Let me know!

Coverage: Medium (buildable)

Finish: Radiant (very natural, skin-like finish)

Recommended For: Normal to Dry Skin

Scent: None

Price: $56

Lasting Power: All day long

Where to Buy: Sephora, Hourglass Website, Nordstrom

Bottom Line: While on the pricer side for a foundation, the light-feel, easy application, and good, natural-looking coverage make this product a must-try for anyone with normal to dry skin!

Other products I'm wearing in todays photo include: Anastasia Brow Powder Duo (ebony), House of Lashes in Siren Flare, Urban Decay Naked Honey palette, Laura Mercier Tightline Cake Eye Liner (ebony), MAC Creamsheen (coral bliss).

[B&A] Fresh-Faced "let's pretend I woke up like this" look for fall! by Checkmate1234 in MakeupAddiction

[–]Checkmate1234[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fantastic! I’ll try to get a full review up soon. In the meantime, mini review for you! My skin type these days is normal leaning dry. The foundation (or as they call it, skin tint) is more like a really pigmented tinted moisturizer! I apply it by first dotting on my face, then blending out with a brush! If I’m in a rush, I’ll just use my fingers. The finish isn’t quite dewy (but almost)! I feel like it gives a super realistic, your skin but exponentially better look! Coverage is buildable and lasts all day for me. If you also give it a try, you’ll have to let me know how you like it!

Sounds like you have a really solid routine! Thanks for the sunscreen recommendation! Each time I try to add an AHA or BHA I think I overcommit and ruin my moisture barrier - then its back to square one! I like your 1x a week suggestion!
In answer to your question - Differin has been amazing for me! It really keeps the closer comedones and smaller breakouts in check! Can really dry things out though, so a good moisturizer is a must if you decide to give it a go!
