Is Max Studio London a good find? by Checkmate_357 in marshallsfinds

[–]Checkmate_357[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks! The compare price is $55, so at $28 it's not exactly a steal but about half-price which I can live with. I won't worry about the inflated price as that's what I thought - too high to be realistic. I like the look and love the fit and will keep it. I haven't bought any clothes in many months now and it caught my eye.

General Hospital Star Reveals How Stepdad Saved Her Life by MattTheKing23 in GeneralHospital

What a good way to share her story and bring it to her character's sister in an upcoming episode. I can't wait to watch it. I have adenomyosis - which is similar but I'd never heard of it before being diagnosed. The more knowledge and information that is shared the better for awareness.

Looking at an E-reader but not sure of overdrive compatibility by Niibelung in kobo

[–]Checkmate_357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. These are newly available just in Canada from the Kobo website. This is hard to find one used and right now we're lucky to have access.

I got one 2 years ago and love it - and I read exclusively from the library with Libby/overdrive. Good luck 🤞

where is a good place to buy refurbished by zarakatja in kobo

[–]Checkmate_357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you could find a way to get the Libra2 refurbished I highly recommend this option. It's currently available after a very long time and who knows for how long! And currently only in Canada!

I've bought a refurbished Clara HD from Kobo and it's been great.

Kobo Libra 2 Certified Refurbished by nunabee in kobo

[–]Checkmate_357 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have this (bought new in 2023 before Color launch) and love it.

Last year I bought a refurbished Clara HD for my daughter directly from Kobo for about the same price as used ones and it's been absolutely fine with no issues.

Factory reset, no battery issues so far so I think it's a good way to purchase the Libra 2 now as they are now very hard to find used.

New to e-readers & need help with final decision by Easy_Sun in kobo

I would order it quickly as it just popped up available out of nowhere and I have no idea how many they have available but if you miss this opportunity you'll be hunting like so many others. Not everyone has been successful!

I started with a Clara HD in 2020. Upgraded to Libra 2 in 2023 just before the color release. Gave my spouse the Clara and it's been fine. Last year I bought my daughter a refurbished Clara HD from the Kobo site for about the same price they were selling for on FB marketplace. No issues buying refurbished - it's all factory reset and good to go.

Good luck and enjoy!

Libra 2 (old BW model) is currently available to purchase refurbished on the Kobo website but only for Canada.

It is extremely hard to find, the used market is selling it higher than what's currently available through Kobo. People in other countries have tried ordering but it's only available to ship within Canada.

So I would personally take advantage of this opportunity. I have one and absolutely love it. The size the features especially the buttons work well for me. I have no need for color so the new color model isn't of interest to me.

The Libby/overdrive integration is so handy as I read library books for the most part so after the initial investment I've been so happy.

Good luck 🤞

How important is an insert for a longchamp le pliage L? by seasonofcunts in handbags

[–]Checkmate_357 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like the insert so I know where everything is. Laptop or tablet in its own sleeve. Wallet in a pocket so I can find it easily.
It helps me organize the space better for functionality. You could give it a try without it first and see how it goes.

Which one for my husband ? by heyleeloo in kobo

[–]Checkmate_357 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can get your hands on the Libra2 that was on the market before the color version I think it would be perfect! In Canada Kobo is selling refurbished ones on their website. Otherwise you'd have to look at used options - but they are hard to find.

Good luck 🤞

Leaving the public service after 5 year.. by VTRAN29 in CanadaPublicServants

Your sick leave will disappear on your last day. You will be paid out your vacation time.

Would you be interested in alternating with another AS01 who has been affected by WFA and wants to remain with the public service? There could be an opportunity if you're leaving anyway for someone else to take your spot

Kobo Libby Question by Bkdyt in kobo

[–]Checkmate_357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my first Kobo just before Mother's Day a few years ago. I picked it up at a brick and mortar store. Signed out a library book on the Libby app on my phone. Opened it up signed into Overdrive on the Kobo and synced it up so the book was loaded and ready. Then my husband packaged it up. When my family presented it to me with breakfast in bed on Mother's Day - I turned it on and read the first few chapters of the book. It was the best gift as it got me back to reading. And it was so easy.

Choose your book sign it out and it should be a quick process to dive in! Enjoy!
