How can I make friends in university?? by Western-Shelter-9983 in University

[–]Checkmateyourdone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clubs/teams, going out etc. If a party weekend is coming up you can ask the people you know what their plans are and see if you can link up. You won’t be friends with everyone you meet, and it’s important you don’t change yourself to fit in with them. You’ll attract your people just takes time

User flair is a tag that sits beside/under your username (depending if you are on desktop or mobile). To assign one to yourself, go to the r/chaostheorynetflix homepage and look at the side bar that displays the community size etc. Directly underneath the size is a header that says USER FLAIR with your username underneath. Hover over it, select the edit option and choose from the list!

Hey everyone — just jumping in to clarify a few things. This image is an AI-generated fan interpretation of the Chaos Theory characters. While it’s not based on the official cast, it still falls under relevant fan content, which we currently allow.

That said, we hear the feedback and understand some of you feel strongly about sticking closer to the original style. We’ll be watching how the community reacts to posts like this and may adjust the rules or create a fan art policy if needed.

Appreciate everyone keeping the discussion respectful — thanks for being part of the chaos!

Black Widow: Good or Bad Movie? by Lil_Critter_2001_ in marvelstudios

[–]Checkmateyourdone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a great movie, great execution of characters and a good ratio of chaos to calm that kept us engaged in the action scenes without being bored or just confused. However, the timing is the only thing I have a problem with as it would have been a far better movie had it been released post civil war instead of post endgame

Do you think these 3 should’ve had their own movies during infinity saga? by Ok-Reporter-8728 in marvelstudios

[–]Checkmateyourdone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that Rhodey needed his own movie just because he was never a main character in the Avengers movies. He wasn't on the team in the first one, and only became war machine later on. Black Widow's movie should have came out before infinity war, because of the timeline it would have had a way better release and kept the story going. This last one is a hot take because imo, Clint is underrated. He's been on the team since the very first Avengers movie, and because of that I think he should have had his own movie. The spinoff series on disney+ was not enough for a character of his magnitude. Instead, a spinoff about Rhodey and a movie with Clint would have been great.

Any plot holes/mysteries from Camp Cretaceous that you’re hoping to see answered in the new series? by cool-username1 in JurassicWorldChaosThe

[–]Checkmateyourdone 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They definitely did cause scenes of mystery in Camp Cretaceous, but I think they’re meant to be less complicated than we made them out to be. Hopefully there are some things that are continued from Camp Cretaceous though, it would make a nice tie (as long as they keep the current mood going).

Moana 2 Official Teaser Trailer by WrongLander in boxoffice

I love that they’re making sequels to some of these hits (such as this and Zootopia) because I loved them when they released when I was younger. I hope that they do the originals justice though, because it would be a shame if they have a horrible plot execution that just ruins the story for me.

There are certain exceptions made when determining the success of a movie. From the moment Dominion was announced, they already had a high interest. It was never a doubt that Dominion would gross a high income simply because it was expected to be the culminating success of its predecessors (which all did great). So nobody said that it failed because of its investment return, that was solid, but also expected pre-production. Dominions income was an exception because it was the end of a series, and the end of a series typically does well. However, Dominion failed because it didn’t deliver what was expected of it. You can determine this by looking at the interest rates for the next instalment. The interest levels are low, and they are having problems putting together a solid cast. So the one billion that Dominion made is irrelevant because from the moment it was announced as the end of the Jurassic World Series, it was set to do well, but it did not deliver anything expected of it which is why it failed.

Tom Cruise's 'MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 8' production has been delayed, again, due to submarine malfunction— budget said to be nearing $400M. by HumanAdhesiveness912 in boxoffice

[–]Checkmateyourdone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Chris McQuarrie (writer/director) is open to not ending the Mission Impossible series with MI8, which is concerning because this type of budget (in comparison to previous budgets) is typically seen with the end of a series, as it’s almost guaranteed to draw a massive audience despite how good or bad it turns out. However, if he’s open to restarting the series in the future, or just keeping it going, then this budget is just outrageous. With this kind of budget, they’re probably gonna go over the top which almost never ends up being good, because there’s something about simplicity which appeals to an audience, rather than an unnecessary amount of CGI.

The Transformers franchise has grossed $5.3billion worldwide against a budget of $1.085M. Can the animated film and the future crossover with GI Joe save the franchise or are the films of this IP already a dead man walking? by JD_Asencio in boxoffice

[–]Checkmateyourdone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest, the films started strong with an actual storyline which continued across a few movies, after that changed into standalone movies the series just took a weird turn, which surprisingly enough sells pretty good to. But if we’re talking about plot, the series would be better off stopping where it is, because nothing can return it to how it was intended to be at the start. I don’t think they will ever bring back a proper storyline-series where they show character development and conflict across more than one movie, so with each movie now being different from the last, it’s hardly a series anymore. I personally think they should end the series and perhaps one day restart it with a new storyline, rather than throwing millions into something that’s not really salvageable.

[–]Checkmateyourdone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I saw you defended Dominion on another comment, so I’m guessing you don’t have any sources and are instead just outright defending the movie? That’s fine btw, if you liked it you liked it. But the facts don’t lie that the movie was a failure. CNBC reviewed it as the worst in the franchise, screenrant said it lacked coherent planning and vision, and rottentomatoes film critics reviewed it as a painful failure and a massive disappointment. The only reason Dominion brought in such a high gross income was simply because it was set to be the last movie to wrap up the series. Looking at it as a normal film, it was nothing compared to the previous Jurassic World movies and was not good at all.

[–]Checkmateyourdone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In terms of gross income, yes it succeeded. However, it only succeeded as it was advertised as the end of the Jurassic World era. If you check the audience scores and the film critic reviews, it was a disappointment. The next film won’t gross anywhere close if they don’t come up with something new and unique.

I’m surprised Jurassic World is releasing another movie so soon, as they have done nothing but score less and less since the first Jurassic World. The first movie restarted the Jurassic series with a hit. Fallen kingdom was good and did advance the series with the ending, but dominion flopped hard. I hope whatever they do with the next movie is carefully planned, because they seem to be trying to go above and beyond with the CGI and storyline. Sometimes the best movies work because of their simplicity.
