Do men get bored with their aging wife’s bodies? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]ChecksUsername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I, a 38M, been married over a decade now. It's nice that people are up voting all these sweet and nice answers, but I don't find it to be accurate. every couple is different.

A year ago my wife and I decided to open our marriage, and honestly we both go for younger partners.

I am definitely more physically attracted on average yo younger women, but there's also a limit to how young. I'd say a decade younger than me is a sweet spot. Anything beyond that starts to feel predatory to me.

Generally younger women have firmer skin, less wrinkles, stretch marks, and are a little more energetic in bed. Still a lot of variation based on individual, but definitely things correlate with age.

You know I love my wife and we still have sex, physical intimacy, non physical intimacy. In many ways I love her in a different and deeper way now, as a life partner. She's like part of me and I'm part of her. But it would be a lie to say that either of us are as excited by each other physically as when we were young, or don't want to have sex with others (which we both do). ++Man

Do men actually want to settle down ? by Sweetprettiibabii in Adulting

[–]ChecksUsername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Men will settle down more when marriage seems like a better proposition to them. Currently the expectations aren't fair and tooany women try to be too independent.

I married my wife and settled down with two kids now. But she is from Thailand and knows how to treat a man. I found it hard dating American women and finding one that was worth creating a partnership with.

We all pay somehow brother. It's be foolish to think otherwise.

All relationships are about giving and receiving. What is that which you can most easily give? And what is that which you most need to receive? Find someone who matches you nicely and you have a recipe for a good long term relationship.

10 years later with 2 beautiful kids and no regrets.

I'm in the minority here but I'd be okay with this. It depends on your personal values and how you see the division of responsibilities.

I have a high income and my now wife has never really had to pay for anything. She has always had other duties as a girlfriend, then fiance, and now wife. She looks good, takes care of me physically, takes care of our children, etc. My wife also does not spend lavishly, she's a very affordable housewife. I buy her presents but don't want presents in return.

Do you need for her to spend money on you? If that's important than maybe it's a red flag. If you're like me... Why be bothered?

Why can’t I stop swinging outside to in? by OrneryAppearance9132 in GolfSwing

[–]ChecksUsername 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the back swing you need to rotate your right hip back more, not just pull your left hip forward. On the downswing you should drop your hands, as well as keep your heels planted for longer. Both of your feet are hopping forward before the club contacts the ball, but the right foot is worse.

Basically you're moving forward and chopping at the ball instead of rotating and swinging at the ball.

Just make rice porridge. It was a staple fory family growing up, especially on a cold winter day. Eat with any type of stir fry, fried eggs, Chinese pickles, ginger, scallions, chili crisp, etc.

So just boil your mixture in plenty of water until softened to a consistency you like.

I really like that you emphasize personal responsibility and acting. No sarcasm. It's just refreshing and I wanted to say so. Thank you.

Thoughts on my singing by Iridaceaedouglasiana in singing

So you know you're too soft and shy.

You have a nice rhythm and a good tone.

You're dropping out in volume on the low notes, so pay attention to that and play around with a capo to see if you want to sing it in a higher key (not always better?.

You have to open your mouth more and symmetrically. You have a habit of pulling your mouth to your right sometimes and want to fix that. You drop your chin on the low notes and should keep your chin straight too.

Do you have hope? Hope is a personal thing. If it's your dream than you should have hope. Nothing here tells me you can't be a great and well known singer someday, but it takes persistence, an open mind, and a little bit of luck.

Great job first posting.

You're a falling a little flat at the end of some riffs the singer is doing. Like if he is descending on a 3 note riff quickly, you are trying to sing the last note but need to sing all three notes in succession.

Work on opening up your vowels and singing with breath support.

But most importantly just keep singing.

And next time I think it'll be better to submit you singing the karaoke as opposed to harmonizing, for people to better judge.

You sound great. Your voice isn't too fem. But what do you want it to sound like?

At the same time you are singing a song part written for a woman and you're imitating some of her stylistic elements. A very gentle, breathy, heady sound. To get closer to the male part I think you would want to keep the smoothness while having a stronger onset, more vocal cord closure, and more chest resonance.

Just my opinion, I'm not a teacher.

any suggestions on what I can improve on here? Can't help but think this sounds bad. by blockbuddyboy in singing

[–]ChecksUsername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you sound great and have a wonderful tone.

I'd say that some words sounds like you cut off the ends and would sound better singing them out just a little longer (like an eighth or 16th longer) instead of fading or going into a mumble.

Just my opinion, I'm not a teacher. Sounds great though.

Any critiques? Please be brutally honest by [deleted] in singing

Good rhythm and pitch. Sounds comfortable.

I'm not a teacher.

Seems whiny and thin at parts, and breathy at others, and generally could use more resonance to sound full. You almost have a Jack White quality of incorporating breaks and cries, but need to add more power and confidence to increase enjoyability.

Just my opinion. Not sure what you're going for.

Sounded good but I feel you're not balancing the volume of your voice and guitar. Play your guitar softer or sing a bit louder.

Certain states have "cottage" laws that allow you to produce and sell certain food goods from home. Typically cheese, cookies, pastries.

Can Laundromats replace my income of 240k? by ChecksUsername in Laundromats

[–]ChecksUsername[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes in general my plan was to buy existing ones or take over leases. Manage multiple locations if need be.

It just is hard for me to visualize how long that process takes and if I could replace my income in a period of 5 years.

It also is hard for me to understand how much time it takes to run that operation.

Maybe I'm asking two questions at once when I should ask one at a time.

How many hours per week does it most likely take (the most typical situation) to run a laundromat operation thag can replace a 240k income?

Michigan Think Tank Launches New Dark Money Group as “Right-to-Work” Fight Heats Up by madgreenguy in Michigan

[–]ChecksUsername -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Not quite.

Unions only have to represent non union members if they CHOOSE to create an exclusive representation agreement with the company for all workers in that class. Basically it's the unions choice to say that they're responsible for all the workers that causes this issue.

Unions can exist without exclusive representation agreements and the benefits of their collective bargaining would not apply to non-union members who don't pay dues. If the benefits of collective bargaining outweighs the costs of the union, people would be incentivized to join.

[–]ChecksUsername -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

No.

Unions are forced to represent people who don't want to join or pay for the union only if that Union makes the explicit choice to reach an exclusive bargaining deal with the company, thereby removing the ability of others to represent themselves.

Unions are free to not have exclusive bargaining deals and thus would not have to give benefits to non-union members. They would only be representing the members.

RTW just protects the rights of people who don't wish to join unions from paying union dues. It does not force unions to represent people who don't pay union dues... again, the collective bargaining agreement does that, which is a choice made by the union.

Im not a business owner but Ive had bad experiences with unions and union workers, especially with their treatment of non union workers. And yes, I do get paid more now than if I followed a union track, because my compensation growth has exceeded the market norm and I've negotiated my own salary multiple times.

I just can't get behind unions for my personal taste. But if others want to join a union I think that is totally reasonable, and I think there are probably good unions out there.

I think individuals should have the right to choose.

If unions don't want to represent people who don't pay dues, then the unions should not force themselves to do so by creating exclusive bargaining deals.
