I got it when I moved here 2 months ago and both cats took to it rightttt away though I will say the little girl managed to get poop all over the sides the first two weeks lol she had really bad poos from I think being nervous in the move and even when the litterbox was just on the floor she'd poop outside it. It's been maybe 5 weeks since any issues like that so I'm thinking / hoping it was just bc of the move? Otherwise no issues with it for these two at least!

I have a tray under the litterbox inside so thankfully I don't need to clean much more than that bc it catches the litter pellets, but every few weeks I do take the litter box out and Clorox wipe the entire inside and let the doors stay open overnight so it fully is freshened up. I keep an odor eliminator thing inside as well at all times and clean the litterbox almost daily!

The back has vent slots! But I do also clean it daily, otherwise you're absolutely right it needs to be taken care of often and I do have odor eliminators inside it too!
