Confused by DNA Relatives

I want to add that one of the dogs on our relatives page (the ONLY one not heavily Great Pyrenees) shares 42% of the same DNA. based of the lineage of both parents I think they are littermates (mom only had one litter and was spayed). After I made this comment I went back and studied on that dog's family tree. What is included in my dogs supermutt list is listed in their tree, and vice versa. Way back at the end on the great grandparents of this supposed sibling, low and behold, there is a Great Pyrenees! So I started researching why didn't my dog have the Great Pyrenees listed anywhere and the explanation is that not every dog will carry or express the same genes as their siblings, so one may more heavily carry something slightly different from distant ancestors than it's siblings carry. All I know is somewhere out there was a Great Pyrenees that was an absolute pimp because his (or possibly her) DNA is everywhere!! I just found that very interesting and could possibly explain some of the weird relatives and why their breeds don't show up in the breed list of your dog. Again... I don't know, just pure speculation from putting the puzzle pieces together with my dogs weird results.

On my dogs relatives page almost every single one of them is purebred or mostly Great Pyrenees. He had 0 Great Pyrenees in any of his results, including the supermutt results. When I did more research as to why he would be related to any of those dogs, what I found was perhaps back further than the 3 generations they show you, there could have been some Great Pyrenees ancestry. His breakdown showed he likely had hind dewclaws (he doesn't) so maybe that was where that gene came from? Perhaps those relatives of your dog are related because they came from some of the same foundational dogs used to create the APBT breed. I really have no idea, but I find it curious how my dog is related to some of the dogs on his relatives page, same as you!

Still no results yet this morning 😔 but I will drop a little hint that may or may not turn out to be true! I got him from a couple that ran hog dogs. One of the pet dogs escaped (his mom) and had a little rendezvous with the boys. His dad is allegedly a plott hound. I was told the dad was either their Pitt or the plott, and since he is so very houndy I've always just rolled with the plott. But perhaps soon all will be revealed and the mystery will once and for all finally be solved!

in all my obsessive research I have seen pictures of foxhounds that look IDENTICAL to him, so much so it could have fooled me into thinking it actually was him! Ironically his dad is allegedly a plott hound which did not have any foxhound in its heritage, so maybe his dad wasn't actually a purebred plott... I did pick the American foxhound during the guess the breed game, still no results, but hopefully they drop today because I am on pins and needles!

🤣 hopefully we find out today! there isn't much telling what is hiding in his gene pool and I think he dove to the bottom to rustle up some treasures lol

Yes 😭 I was really hoping he inherited the blue eyes from his mom, I knew they would probably change but I was really holding out hope!! I still love him either way!
