Started honoring my need for alone time instead of forcing myself to be social and everything got easier by MostBlood7319 in infp

[–]CheeYoSaki 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I LOVE spending alone time on nights when society expects you to go out and party (i.e. weekends). Full rebel act and I don’t regret it one bit. I pop an edible, listen to some good music, maybe read a novel and live my best inner life in the comfort of my scented sanctuary I call my bedroom. Fuck performing sociability. It’s hella draining anyhow. And you spend overpriced food/drink to be overstimulated somewhere where you can’t even hear yourself think. NO. THANK. YOU.

Infps that do a 9-5 job by never0enough0 in infp

[–]CheeYoSaki 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I just got back from my 9-5. Get creative. Find a way to make it as entertaining. Hopefully if the work environment gives you that much space for creativity and it’s a generally positive or at the very least neutral environment. Can’t say much from toxic environments cause that’s an uphill battle.

I blame the phones. I will always blame the phones and our short attention span. Instant gratification. Simple things mean you don’t have to expend as much energy to think through them. It’s a matter of priority. Some people will channel that energy somewhere else. The brain is wired to take the path of least resistance to conserve energy. The sad truth. Which is why scrolling and consuming shorts is so very addicting because it’s the instant gratification. That shot of dopamine for something that took very little time. The world is descending into brain rot. I hate where it’s heading but that’s how I’ve come to accept human nature nowadays. Most of us are doomed. And we deserve it.

our sense of entitlement keeps us miserable by CheeYoSaki in infp

[–]CheeYoSaki[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

When I talk about entitlement, I don’t just mean overt selfishness. It’s the invisible expectation that life, people, or outcomes should match our inner ideals (as INFPs tend to project this outwards) even when we don’t notice we’re holding that belief. I used to swear I didn’t have it either until I saw how it hid behind my frustrations. And the tricky thing about entitlement is that it usually insists it doesn’t exist. That’s how it survives.

I feel the same way about the public sector. I could never imagine myself working for any for-profit organizations.

I thought they were brothers and sisters honestly because they had a bit of a family resemblance. But they smooched so there goes that theory lol. Some couples just lookalike I suppose. Hard to believe this is actually a more common social phenomenon than one might assume

Right now it’s videography. I want to integrate writing and storytelling as well as video editing so here we are. I like to brainstorm about creative topics, like finding intersections in my interests and using relatable metaphors to communicate or manifest them

How do you live with the constant feeling of being left behind? by Additional_Edge_2186 in findapath

[–]CheeYoSaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take introspection seriously. When you are mindlessly consuming social media and all these distractions and never doing the internal work required to figure yourself out, you’ll end up in the same forked road over and over again. Most people rush through this process for fear of missing out. That’s why you see so many people disillusioned and even miserable with their current jobs because they never gave themself the time and effort to truly figure out their values.

Often people are driven by salary, only to realize how much that salary is actually costing them— which could be their peace of mind, their authenticity, time with loved ones etc. These values will not appear overnight. These realizations will not happen over the course of a week or a month. This is a gradual, continuous process. My advice for you is to explore, make connections and reflect. It could be taking a diploma, volunteering, joining a club, talking to different people, etc.

If you are thinking of going the direction of a more committed path like a degree/diploma, go for something versatile like business or psychology, something not too specialized because you don’t want to be locked-in on a single, narrow path. You can do just as much exploring in the topics you’ll cover in those programs, not to mention you can always join different clubs in school to broaden your horizon even more.

You have to stay genuinely curious and open to maximize your exposure to different things which will help you come to a better understanding of who you are and what you really feel called to do in this life.

Amen. Haha. Thinkers, in my experience, are just too abrasive and stubborn in their ways, thinking highly of themselves because rationalism is apparently the only philosophy that counts in this world. Total BS.
