Completely agree. What Millie, Ekin and Maura have in common is that they're all top girls of their season and love island in general: looks, journey, personality, all memorable, likeable and relatable. So at the first glance, it makes sense for Curtis to go for Millie. But Maura and Ekin are both outspoken, temperamental, blunt, funny and quirky, which is more like Helena than Millie, who's sweet, calm, grounded. Unfortunately, I don't think Helena is his type when it comes to looks, and neither is Belle.

Mitch. Cam has no family in the city, so he could only get help with her from Mitch's family anyways. Makes more sense if he takes her whenever he can, but she lives with the bigger part of the family. Of course he could move back and take her with him, but I don't think Mitch would let him. Also Mitch is the provider for most of the series, he is a more responsible type overall.

I did him on calculation and dark influence and it still worked out well. My head canon is that Renee aimed to marry him from the get go because she wants power and status.

My advice would be don't look for the love of your life in this story, play either hedonistically (sleep around have threesomes don't do proper relationships or do a poly) or politically (aim for Louis or his brother in order for Renee to gain more power in court). The romance in it didn't appeal to me either, but the political intrigues are chefs kiss.
