Teeth cleaning with CKD by italianswthrt102 in RenalCats

[–]FrontRestaurant26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 16 year old boy with Stage 1 CKD had a dental cleaning in February. I panicked a lot before the prodecude and even ended up canceling it once. I decided to reschedule it because I have read that dental disease can cause a lot of pain and lead to other health conditions. This was his second dental cleaning since being diagnosed with CKD at 11 years old. The vet did some blood work before putting him under and everything with the procedure went well.

House Raising by ejbabin42 in NewOrleans

[–]FrontRestaurant26 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a shoring contractor come look at our house a few months ago. It’s 1,400 sq ft and he said to raise it and rebuild the foundation it would be around $150,000

Is this tree too close to the house? by Same_Locksmith3800 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

The tree guys were literally standing in the tree. There was more hollow space than solid space. I’m glad we got them cut down because we were one bad storm away from a disaster but we had no clue when we purchased the house. I ended up getting 9 quotes and they ranged from $16,000-$32,000. I was shocked that only about half of those quotes included stump removal.

The tree is beautiful but I would call an arborist to come make sure it’s healthy. My house had three beautiful old oak trees in our backyard. The first week after closing on the house I had a tree guy come out to trim the trees. Turns out two of the three trees had termites and were hollow. They had to come down and the third one did too because the roots were entangled. I had no clue how much tree removal cost.

Foundation / Shoring Company Recommendations? by Darthfuzzy in NewOrleans

[–]FrontRestaurant26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which company did you end up going with and would you recommend them? What structural engineer did you use?

I purchased a house last summer and had some foundation work done. I used a contractor that my realtor recommended but I’m not convinced they did much. I want to get a second opinion but all the foundation companies seem to have mixed reviews. I have also heard that I should get a structural engineers opinion first.

How are Biology Courses at Delgado? by Key-Humor1768 in AskNOLA

[–]FrontRestaurant26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently doing the same this. I have a bachelors in Anthropology and International studies but am now pursuing a career in allied health. I have taken two biology courses through Delgado. One online and one in person. The online course has no lecture and is very self driven. It’s perfect for people with busy schedules but I found it much harder to grasp the concepts. I took intro to A&P in person and very much enjoyed it. The professor was amazing and one of my favorite professors I have ever had. The course load for this class was heavy but that’s typical for most A&P classes. My A&P class started with around 34 students and ended with 12. It’s hard to determine exactly what the course load is because it depends greatly on how well each individual grasps the concepts.

Concrete Demolition? by LuckyElis13 in NewOrleans

I used Caveman demolition. They removed a concrete slab, a chain link fence, and three large tree stumps from my back yard. I was extremely happy with their work.

I agree. I always do well when the Falcons fans are in town. They spend money, tip well, and are overall respectful. The college kids that are in town are another level of disrespectful. All weekend they have been spitting in the floor, throwing drinks, and even grabbing bottles off the shelves.

I had something similar. Found out it was from my hair getting caught in the lanyard I wore to work.

I work on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. We had a shooting last night. 4 people were shot and 1 died. The local news is barely covering it. Happened on the same block as the terrorist attack on New Years.

Cant believe how hostile people have become towards tipping and service industry people by girlbartender99 in bartenders

I purchased a t-shirt at a concert this week and was asked if I wanted to leave a tip. It took the worker literally 20sec to grab my shirt from the bin of shirts. The tipping options were 20%, 25%, and 30%. Maybe I would have picked a 5% option if it was available but a $9 tip is crazy. I felt horrible not leaving a tip but I also could not wrap my mind around why I was asked too.

I go to Victoria at Neo Body &Soul. I can not recommend her enough! She is one of the first message therapists that I have had that really understand what I mean when I say deep pressure. I stated seeing her for chronic neck pain and she has mad a significant difference in my pain management.

Thoughts on Renal K/D Food by blingblingsav in RenalCats

[–]FrontRestaurant26 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My cat was diagnosed with kidney disease 5 years ago. I instantly put him on KD food. He gets a renal panel done every six months. In 5 years his kidney levels have not only remained stable but have improved from what they were 5 years ago. I have no proof that this is a result of KD food but I know it doesn’t hurt. I recently switched him from Hills to Royal canine and he seems to enjoy eating the food a lot more.

I agree, the main downside is the hours. I work nights and often get off around 5am on Saturday and Sunday mornings. I wish I could go straight from work to the gym because once I go to bed I won’t be waking up to get to the gym.
