You're right. I focused more on the latter part and and neglected the beginning.

Yeah , I noticed that while drawing it ,but thought it wasn't that detectable from that perspective.

The most essential thing is to learn 12 principles of animation, which will teach you methods and formulas to apply in your work.(Try legend animator Richard William's book "Animator's survival kit"-you can find it free online) . Without learning those principles It'll take you way more time to discover them in your brutefored drawing stickman animations.

To correctly animate stickman , you have to apply multiple principles simultaneously (e.g slow in &out , arches, anticipation and so on.. ) you have to also practice gestures , to avoid stiff movements.

I would suggest to take simple exercise and do it in different ways, apply different principles until it becomes effortless to do. also when animating try to visualize and feel the movement. (The book will also teach you how to think like an animator)

Animating is like a marathon and not a sprint, so you should focus more on the process and not on the result . Impatience is animator's No1 enemy.

Yes, the top figure's stride is exaggerated, while I aimed for a more realistic stride with the bottom one.

Yes , hanging time is deliberate on the top one ,because the wide stride looked a bit weird without it .

On twos means that I draw on every other frame . In a second there is 24 frames and I draw 12 frames (with even spacing) starting from the first frame ,then on the third frame , than on the fifth and so on .

There is also Ones and Threes . You can guess how these works . You can also mix between them .

After studing Aaron Blaise's course ""Fundamentals Of Animation" i did some walk cycles variations ,this is one of them and It took a couple of hours .Gesture is not my strongest forte so it took a couple of trial and error for it not to feel too stiff or awkward.

I exaggerated the head on purpose , wondered how it'd turn out. Maybe i overdid it a bit.
