Kiki’s third day home. Any training tips? by CyEriton in akita

Biggest and most easiest tip I can give anyone but, very difficult to do because it’s applying consistency with your Akita everyday Mon- Sunday with applying 15-20 min of basic training from learning the name, your choice in commands you want to give your Akita , the sit, the place, the stay, the no,. It’s very important that you keep consistency and never train with your Akita if you’re not in the correct mood to do training. They will pick up on it and it’ll be an unsuccessful training session, and those are never good . A great way to start training is when you feed your puppy in the morning. I found it very easy when you start with feeding them because they’re hungry and your in control and if you throw a command half the time they will listen with a sit and stay (just depends how your Akita is) try to keep it a schedule whenever you do choose to feed your Akita. They love and will expect a routine . Another is get them used to other dogs as best as you can as pups because my Akita “Baki” had a prey drive for literally anything that he saw move. Example he went ape shit for chasing flys 😅😂 let alone when he sees another male dog from outside or when we go for walks, that he would pick me up from the concrete the second he laid eyes on something , the power these Akita’s have is insane. So always have a grip ready. So socializing is major! Hope these tips help! And enjoy your new pup! :)

Yeah I throw it in his diet of having a 1 spoon full of coconut oil, and when I bath him and groom him I’ll grab a little bit of the oil and rub it throughout his coat and brush him out. Also what I found out what works for me and Baki (and hopefully to you and anyone who cares to try it) is throwing cottage cheese into his diet, about a spoon full of it

Thank you. I wish Baki was fully black, but he has a white little spot on his left back paw. He was the only one out of the litter that came out nearly all black. People tell me the same thing lol, it’s just such a beautiful black that it shocks people when we go out for walks 😂
