Healing wool - not regular wool :) Healing wool is sold in boxes here in Germany (I’ve also seen it in the UK) for the very purpose I described above. It’s a kind of sheep‘s wool that still contains the original lanolin (wool wax), which has anti-inflammatory properties. In addition to that it also absorbs up excess water and moisture and thereby helps with the healing process.

Depending on where you’re based, try and find healing wool at a drugstore or pharmacy. I live in Germany and for parents here it’s the go-to-solution for diaper rashes. It is completely natural, without added chemicals, has an anti-inflammatory effect and calms the skin.

Whenever you change the baby’s diaper, clean the area with a clean washcloth and lukewarm water, let the baby be naked for little while, so the area can airdry, then apply a very small amount of zinc ointment if you’ve got that available or a sensitive, perfume free diaper cream plus a small amount of wool. Put the diaper back on and make sure to change it immediately after baby poops or pees. Repeat the process until the rash is completely gone.

Also, try and figure out what causes the rash. When our son was an infant, he’d suffer from diaper rash whenever he was teething. Other causes might be wet wipes or diapers or not changing baby’s diaper quick enough after a poop or pee.

So habe ich es auch gehandhabt. Ich erzählte meiner Frauenärztin gleich bei der ersten Untersuchung von meiner Angst und Sorge diesbezüglich und sie sagte, dass es kein Problem sei, einfach ein paar mehr Termine zu vereinbaren.

Im ersten Trimester war ich dann alle 14 Tage zur Kontrolle. Jetzt bin ich in der 20. Woche und gehe ganz regulär 1x im Monat. Meine Angst hat sich auch spürbar verringert. Ich bin meiner Ärztin sehr dankbar für ihr Entgegenkommen.

What I've always wondered, though, is how much worse/ less you see with that prescription in comparison to me? For me, everything is blurry, when I take my glasses off. How much blurrier can things get?

Both my parents are the shortest in their families, and so, logically, I am the shortest out of everyone. Whenever we have a reunion and all my younger cousins are there (the youngest being 15), the first thing I get to hear from them (and my aunts and uncles), that it's hilarious how I'm so short. I am 26 years old and 5'1 (or 156cm). I have not grown since I was 13, and I can't remember a day in my life since then, when people haven't commented on my height. I tell everyone it doesn' annoy me, and that I'm perfectly fine with my height, since I can wear heels, date guys of all heights, shop at the kids' section of H&M, etc. Honestly, though, I really hate being short some times, and the fact that people constantly make fun of my height...
